Hi guys, again!
I'm trying now a new experience. Grow a autoflowering seed(Auto Cheese) in a pot but outside, so no artificial lightning and no extra ventilation, just the breeze and the sun.
Now that the weather will start to change I think is a good time to try because will provide the proper lightning and ventilation that it needs to grow plus the water of the rain now I think is beneficial for the plant as well.
At the moment the plant is at Day 16 since the seed was in contact with water to germinate. Now I'm saving the plant inside the tent with the same conditions of light, temperature and humidity as my hydroponic one. After some weeks, basically when the rain slow down, I will put the plant outside.
Didn't gave any nutrients yet and dunno exactly the best way to do it and which ones.
I count w/ your help to help me with all that.
Medium:
Soil
Size of Grow Area and number of plants:
Outside
Lighting:
Sun
Extraction:
Wind
Pot Sizes:
Now it's inside a small pot but after i want to transplant it to a 5,5L pot.
Do you think it's enough for the whole process?
Nutrients:

Vitalink pH Up/Down Easy 25% Essentials
Other Equipment:
PH meter - Milwaukee PH600AQ Digital pH Pen
EC meter - Milwaukee CD611 Digital Conductivity Pen
Plan for the grow:
I'm planning to do some topping and LST. This one cause will be outside I think that I will not do SCROG.
IF its an auto going out side mate, just dig a hole and fill it with good soil and plant ti. Top her once, but thats it, she will be a huge plant!
Bit too soon mate, the plant doesnt look ready for transplant yet. Let the stem get a little thicker and stronger, there is still plenty of room in that pot for roots. Id say 5 days at least before transplanting her.
Day 22
The earth was already dry so I decided to transplant it today. Bought a 14L pot and done it. Bought as well Perlite and added to the soil.
When I watered with 6,5 pH water, I measured the runoff and the pH was on 5,8 and the EC was 8,3 mS/cm2. Very very high. Should I keep adding water till the EC drops till 1 or I take a risk of overwatering?
Day 35
I think this one is having a slow progress. I just moved it outside to check how she reacts. Today is not so warm so might be a good day to try.
The lower leaves felt and I don't know why.
The soil is still humid and I'm afraid of creating root rot due to lower absorption of water or something like that. I watered the plant at 27th of May.
Day 37
I watered yesterday with 7L of water, no nuts, and today don't look better. The EC in the end of watering dropped from 1,7 to 0,7mS/cm2. The pH is at 6,2.
What do you think it might be?
@bs_monteiro I would agree, it could be larger but she has done the best she can with what she was given. Although we call them nutritients and feed, what the plants actually eats is made from the light striking the leaves. You’ve kept them alive but they haven’t been eating full meals because of the lack of bright light. The plants will need adjusting now but it’s your job to pamper her until she gets comfortable. With the EC numbers you gave it appears that your girl is hungry. I would expect this with the sudden increase in light she has available. The general recommendation is to increase the input EC by 0.2 and see how she responds. I’m not a soil grower in cannabis or an outside grower for that matter so ima tag @templegrower to set you on track brother.
Hey there,
So that looks like a bit of nutrient burn to me. I had something that looked just like that a couple grows back.. my soil was way too hot for the little ladies so they had some troubles in the beginning, but ended up growing out of it. In your case, I think it's good that you've flushed - 8.1 EC is like fire lol. I don't measure my EC as I run in a pre-mixed pre-fortified supersoil, but I think you wanna shoot for around 1.2-1.5ish in a regular soil + nutes regimen...in your case, since the soil does have some nutrients already built in, I would start with a reduced amount.. maybe 1/4 strength with every 1/3 irrigations and go from there. You can always add in more of the plant starts looking hungry, but you definitely don't want to over do it.
That said, it might be an issue in the root zone, something messing with the uptake, which is very difficult to nail down.. but I probably think the soil was just too hot for them. Probably why it's stunted as well - after 5 weeks they should definitely be bigger/bushier than that (unless you have a legit 100% Ruderalis.. but that's not likely. 😉).
As for how much to water, that's always a tough one.. It depends on your local temps/humidity, size of the plant, type of pot, etc.. looking at your plant, I doubt the roots are fully filling the whole pot yet, so it's not going to be able to absorb that much wate yet.. again less is more I think. It's easier to add more water if you need than to try and extract it out of the soil, lol. If there are no roots in the soil, and that soil becomes saturated with water, you can run into issues like unintentionally concentrating salts when the water does evaporate (salts dissolve in water, water evaporates and leaves salts behind in soil, problems arise), promoting diseases, as well as just wasting water.
Thank you guys. I will try my best to solve the problem.
