Mars Hydro Grow Diary
So, Mars Hydro have been generous enough to send me a grow tent and light to try out.
The tent is a 4ft x 4ft grow tent, and the light is the TSW2000 LED grow light.
Its a massive pleasure to have this opportunity, so I wanted to make sure I have the best strains possible to grow. Because of this, I chose Big Buddhas Blue Cheese, one of my old school favourites, and my best grow so far was with this strain.
I emailed Big Buddha, and they were also happy to provide me with seeds for the grow!
I have decided to pop all ten seeds, and eventually, keep 8 of them. 4 will stay under the Mars light, and 4 will move under a new light, that will be coming soon, ill leave that as a surprise

The Equipment
The lighting for this grow is the Mars Hydro TSW2000. Also, the grow tent is made by Mars Hydro too, it is a 4ft x 4ft grow tent.
I will be using a standard 5 inch RVK extractor for my extraction, with a carbon filter. There will be fans in the grow tent too to keep air well circulated.
Medium and Nutrients
I'm going to grow the Blue Cheese in Canna Coco Professional, and use the Canna Range of nutrients. I have been growing in coco, and using canna for a while now, and always had great results. So this will be my chosen method for this grow too.
Medium, Canna Coco
The coco is mixed with a little of "Eco Thrive" Coco, so it has come perlite and microbes in there too.
Nutrients
Though I have used many different nutrient ranges, I have been using CANNA for my last few grows. I figure, if they make the coco I always use, I should try their nutrients too. I have been impressed with the results, and the price of CANNA.
Additional Nutrients
I like to use a silica additive from around week 3 in veg, up until week five in flower. This helps keep the plants growing strong, and healthy. My favourite brand for silica is Buddhas Tree Solar Green
Also, just incase I might need to top up the cal mag to prevent a deficiency, I have Vitalink Cal/Mag.
And of course, to help with adjusting pH level, I have pH up, and pH down.
EC and pH Meter
You can't underestimate the importance of accurate pH and EC, so I have good reliable meters. To measure my pH, I have a Blue Lab pH Pen, and for EC, I have the Hanna Groline EC Meter.

Day one Above Ground:
As you may have heard in the video, I gave them 2.5ml of Canna A, and 2.5 ml of Canna B, in 5L of water.
I will keep the feed the same as this for a few days, maybe a week. This will help the plant get well adjusted to whats available to it, and grow accordingly.
I will be watering everyday, as it is very hot in the UK right now, and I do not want the medium to dry out, especially at this stage!
100% Successful Germination, with 10 out of ten seeds popping and surfacing all on the same day!
Took me a couple of days to edit the video, but the seeds popped fast! Cups are off, breeze is blowing at them, the games begin!
BTW, If you watch the video you will see, I soaked the seeds for a few hours, and then planted them. No paper towel method in between. All ten seeds are happy.
Keep it simple, and less things will go wrong Plant straight into the medium.... unless its a strong soil

6 days since these girls surfaced, and they are growing very nicely:
I have just upped the food a little, from giving 2.5ml, in 5l of water, to giving 5ml, in 6L of water.
I do not give all of the water to them. Its just easy to remember numbers like these so you dont loose track of what you're giving the plant.
Ill have a video coming tomorrow, have to edit and all that But there really isn't much to see right now.
They are beautiful though. Some crops, you just grow, and others you really care about and love lol, got a feeling this is gonna be one of those, I love Blue Cheese! Such a pleasure to grow this strain!
The light is about 3ft away from the plant, im bringing it closer every day, and the plants seem to be enjoying it! Im on full power, havent dimmed it at all, so being gradual with reducing the height just to be sure I dont scare them lol

Whats up everyone! Things have been busy in the grow room, lots of growth going on, and its time for a transplant to get them going through veg.
I went for 4.5L pots, as thats all they had ten of in the shop, and i need everything to look the same lol
Take a look at the video, Transplanted, refeed on a higher feed:
A n B : 1.5ml per litre
Added some cal mag, 0.5ml per litre. Not really needed, but a little bit there if they want it
Buddha Tree Solar Green, 0.5ML per litre
Thats it other than 2 gram of eco thrive after th ph went down to 5.6, ( it is good for small ph adjustments if you over shoot 😉 )
Ph 5.8 temps around 20c. Lots of run off, happy plants!

Evening everyone! Sorry it has been a while since the last update, but I have been super busy setting up the podcast and finishing some other projects i had to get done.
But here they are, just flipped to flower a few days ago.
They are happy, they seem to love the light and its doing a great job. Especially in these summer temps, I hardly get any heat of it at all.
There is just four in there now

@monkeydo totally agree the jack grow under the ISH just blew my mind can't wait to see how this Mars light with differing diodes preform in the same size set up and conditions

@monkeydo Thats going to be tough to keep up with the ISH it has almost 2x the power and better coverage than the TSW2000, But i still think its going to do a nice job.
