Cobra Autoflower Breeding
60 Day Wonder T.O.D. 5:17pm 1/8/2020. The seed did germinate and produced leaves but none that were able to break soil (coco) before root browned out.
Not sure exactly what the cause is/was but all the FEMs seem to doing significantly worse than the REGs (smaller, 'rust' spots, curling leaves) 🧐 . Maybe too much too soon?
Also tonight its their first 'night', they had been under 24 hour light since birth. Tonight they get their first 20/4 experience.
The plan is... To treat autos like autos; give them 24 light in veg and 12/12 in LATE flower to optimize resin production... but to prevent these little light fiends from stretching too much I'm introducing them to 20/4 tonight, and probably 18/6 in a week or 2 and eventually 12/12 in LATE flower
Heat went out last night and caused tent to go as low as 58F so this desktop setup probably hit very low 50's 😦 😧 😓 🤢 🤮
So far I'd still call #5
best in show (even more so after not really beening affected by the cold). #1 & #2
are taller but same number of nodes just further apart and couldn't deal with second watering as well as cold night. #4
is also a contender (short, thicker stem, good resistances). #3 & #6 showed signs of stress after cold and 2nd watering and in my mind least desirable (droopy curling leaves) but we will see.
That leaves #7 & #8, the runts... not sure how I feel about these plants (since they're autos). They are extremely short and stout (have node spacing a few mm from each other). Really hope 1 is male and 1 is female for crossing (experiment).
😖 😫 🤬 🤬 🤬 pretty much sums it up.
#5 is still in 'the lead' because it has been the least affected BUT ALL plants are feeling the effects from the cold (droop city).
If heat is still out tomorrow I will invest in a seedling heat mat, usually $25-$75 depending on brand/quality/size (or a heated blanket from the thrift store and risk burning my house down lol $5 max 🤑 ).
Oil Radiators are great man, heat up fast and give heat off for a long time. Having one of them in the grow room will really help i think?
Heat is back on! Plants still look like shit but only been a couple hours. Interested to see if this cold spell will cause them to go into flowering (fabric pots may have let more cold hit the roots and cause stress but I really have no idea yet).
not the best but at least they are growing again and none died. #5 is still my favorite #1 is close behind and #6 can take third. Everything else is meh.
Did see this on the Lambs Breath
the root made it out of the bottom of the fabric pot (right at the seem). Its still white and looks healthy, will keep an eye on it as I think when it dies the plant will flower a day or two after.
Ps down to just a tshirt and jeans sweating my balls off (no thermostat in my appartment, think the elderly woman next door has control of the house lol). I'm sure the plants just love this huge environment change.
And training starts [Rocky Theme]. Lambs Breath, Green Crack and Cobra #5
Might train #1 or #2 as well just to see how they grow, but not today.
And to my surprise the curious Lambs Breath root is still alive
and she's found a buddy in Cobra #5
Added the smallest amount of A+B flower nutes to last watering and they seem to have liked it.
tight for space in there man lol. Gonna be a packed out tent 🙂
