Title:  My autoflower grow (multiple strains)

Grower_Urban grows:

1x Lambs Breath by Crop King (auto fem)

1x Blue Cheese by Barneys Farm (auto fem)

1x UK Cheese by Canuk Seeds (auto fem)

1x60 Day Wonder by DNA genetics

2x Snowryder by Shortstuff (auto fem)

?x F2 Bastard Cheese by Me (...semi auto??? Mostly fem)

20190925 182503

click above for pictures and details

Medium:

Soil and/or Coco + perlite (will update after germination).

Size of Grow Area and number of plants:

Micro 2' x 4' x 5' or 0.6 x 1.2 x 1.5 meters with at least 6 plants

Lighting:

Cheap amazon LEDs (2x =300 watt each but really only 100 watt each) and 315 watt LEC when temperature allows (can easily cook my tent on warm/hot days)

Extraction:

6" ducting with 300 CFM+ (variable speeds) 6" exhaust fan using 4" Big Mountain Air carbon filter (reduced down to 4" at filter because I'm cheap)

Pot Sizes:

2 gal buckets (with holes drilled from home depot) and solo cups (for bastard cheeses and 1 snowryder)

Nutrients:

Use up what I got.  Kelp juice for 'veg' (very little, autos) and a basic A+B for flowering plus calmag and carbs.  Will update after first few weeks.

Other Equipment:

PH strips, RH meter, 2x little fans, humidifier, dehumidifier, drip trays, fly traps and floral wire.

Plan for the grow:

Plan for grow?  That's like planning for my unborn to be a doctor/lawyer lol ('plan is to grow the best f*cking dope in the world' LOL).

I do plan to train ALL and possibly top plants if they need it (tiny tent, between pots and lights will lose 12" or .3 of height).  A lot depends on how they grow in a small tent like mine under unideal conditions.

FYI I do plan to selectively pollinate branches/buds if I get males from the bastard cheese

I'm not a forums/internet guy and using cell phone or mobile so this took significantly longer than expected to setup.

At 8:47pm my time (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) the seeds got 'dropped'. Meaning I put them in moist paper towel,
usually I would do this on a plate in a warm dark place but with this many different seeds I used plastic baggies
(I'll reuse them) instead, but open them daily for air exchange. The water used was 6.8 ph give or take .2
(using spa strips from walmart vs 3x price strips from hydroponics store). They will be kept at approximately
75-79 degrees Fahrenheit (apartments ambient air fluctuates). The last pic is the F2 Cheese, I didn't count
how many seeds but I'll give you the toss to boss ratio after germ.

Yeah, some nice variety there. Super interested in the Lamb's Bread.. I've heard mixed things about Crop King but have never seen/run their gear myself, so it'll be deadly to see someone who knows what they're doing actually grow it.

@templegrower

I've liked everything I've tried from them (crop king).  The customer service is amazing, they have a 80% guarantee for germination or they will send you a new pack (just save receipt or packaging). The only issue I've had is the plants can get too big (best problem to have lol) for my small tent.

  • And to be clear, I only think I know what I'm doing 🤫 🤐

1/1 UK Cheese popped

Hand full of the Bastards popped

Tomorrow everything that's germinated will be planted and pots prepared for the ones that need a little longer

'Planted' the Snowryder that had a 1/4" tap root in Rockwool.  It will be kept in the same plastic baggie tonight and gifted to a friend tomorrow (only 2/5 sprouted of his Amherst Humboldt Sour Diesel 👎 👎 )

Good to know. I've only heard it third hand so, ya know, grain of salt and all that. They have some stuff I'd definitely be interested in checking out so 👍. And that sucks for your buddy! ASD... that's a phenomenal cut. I've had it a few times from some guys out in the Kootenays.. very nice stuff.

Got an emergency work call yesterday but today all seeds got planted except bluecheese (not popped yet) and a handful of bastard cheeses (need more coco and cups).

Got a good deal on fabric pots so all are them:

Lambs Breath 3 gal

UK Cheese 3 gal

60 Day Wonder 3 gal

Bluecheese (will be in) 3 gal

Snowryder 2 gal

Bastard Cheese 2 gal (1) and 1 gal (4)

All in coco perlite 3 to 1 mix (some closer to 50/50)

Will update with pictures soon

Bluecheese still hadn't popped but put her in her pot last night for the hell of it.

All bastard cheeses and my last Snowryder sprouted from the coco yesterday, still waiting on lambs Breath, uk Cheese, and 60 day (plus bluecheese)

Ps 100% germination rate for bastard cheese (call it 90%, didn't see any unpopped seeds but didn't look to hard either)

Been very busy with outdoor and indoor harvests and trimming (not to mention my 9-5).  Will keep better records in a week or so.

They seem to be doing just fine in the paper towel lol 😉 .  Hopefully this weekend I can get them in solo cups.  They were from my first grow, given away over 100 and still have at least twice that left over so no biggie if they brownout.

Dry trimming is the future mate 😉 Wait until all of the leaves are dry and they will flake off with a bit of a rub, much easier and some much less time consuming

@macky

How do you get the little bastards out of the buds when its dry?

I've done wet, semi dry and dry trimming.  In my (limited) experience I prefer wet for the nice nugs that you want to be presentable (bag appeal) and dry rub for smaller/popcorns that will be processed into extracts.

I find wet is way easier to get right in there and cut leaf without cutting bud but I'm also left with plenty of finger/scissor hash that has to come from somewhere (the buds).

@grower-urban

the way i do it is, cut a branch off turn it upside down and any fan leave stalk you can see take it off
hang it, leave until its dry buy that time usually the smaller sugar leaves will just fall off with a touch, then same process
turn it upside down and slowly snip away, i have a rather large untrimmed orange sherbet bud i can do a before and after photo maybe?
