A friend gave me a well used bong . The problem is that I believe he tried to clean it some time ago with Propyl alcohol and Epson salt and eventually forgot about it and left it to evaporate with the all the salt still in it. Its such a nice looking piece of blown art glass that I would hate to toss it. The question is .. How would I get all that left over hardened junk out .
@philmebowls same way he did previously mate, use some isopropyl alcohol and salt. ~Shake it up good, and it will get the shit off. Then just pour it away and rinse. You got any pics?

Yep isopropyl and rock salt is the best course or action, if its really bad and you don't have any percolators to deal with you can always add some of those kitchen scourer that are made from material(dont use steel wool it will scratch the glass), if i have a piece that's got some stubborn staining I cut up the scourer into little bits about the size of a your thumb nail and add it with the isopropyl and salt and shake the thing really well, then I rinse and repeat if needed. Even the filthiest of bongs I can get spotless with this method in no more than 2 rinses. Once your done just make sure you use nice hot water to rinse and it should evap clean for you

Probably just a typo but Epsom salts aren’t recommended for cleaning bongs. Rock salt works as a scrubber with the alcohol, Epsom salt grains are smaller, lighter, and don’t have the sharp edges like rock salt does.
Random acts of kindness make the world a better place
At some head shops near me they sell a product called 420 cleaner and it's basically some rock salt with a blue colored liquid but seems to work just as good as the alcohol and rock salt. The same company also makes another product called 710 cleaner for waxs and residue from concentrates. Also would love to see this dirty artsy glass!!
I finally got it cleaned out but here’s another question.. what bowl should use with the stem ? And the original stem was siliconed in place . Should I just buy a rubber stem grommet to replace the silicone or ?
@bubblehok , It was really thick with built up residue . The guy who gave it to me said that I would most likely never get it clean. I finally put some clean photos . Thanks for everyones help !
