@gonzo333 Is it soil your growing in, If you dont already have some I would recommend getting some Mosquito Dunks, for me they are essential for keeping fungus gnats away. They look like doughnuts and you leave them soaking in a bucket of water or whatever for 24 hrs before using the water (to feed the plant) 🙂

Young plants like humidity 60-70% and a gentle wind shaking the plants to stimulate strong stem growth. Follow the manufacturers recommended height or dimming instructions for seedling. Water according to your media needs and you should be good.

+1 for this advice. I will add and stress the term "gentle breeze".... just enough to create a bit of leaf movement, if it looks like those pictures of palm trees during a hurricane then it's too much wind 🤣
I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.
@gonzo333 either or mate, I use a combination depending on the size of the tent I'm in, for a 4x4 tent I will use an oscillating floor fan and 2- 3 clip fans. Usually when they are young I will have one clip fan on low blowing over the tops of the plants, I just adjust the direction and height to maintain a light breeze and introduce more fans as the plant progresses through to flower.

ok perfect ill head to town & pick up a 6" hurricane clip-on today for seedlings. Think its $27, this is an expensive hobby lol
Tell me about it, if I laid out the cost of everything I have purchased minus nutrients it would easily total over 5k, and that's on the lower end of what people spend lol.

ok the manufacturer says 12" from plant from seedling to flower... the only variance is dimming, 25% seedling to 100% flower.
@monkeydo@bubblehok Can you guys recommend a brand of neem oil to pre-treat the outside/inside of my tent for like a preventative barrier. I'm super paranoid about bugs now that i read this forum lol
So i need neem oil & mosquito dunks for sure right? Anything else? I already treated the edges of the bedroom with real insecticide, just incase. F*$k those spider mites look terrifying, ill do anything to prevent that 🤣
@gonzo333 for a barrier I make a mix of Neem, Tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, and Peppermint oil. Has worked well for me so far and my tent is in an outdoor covered garage. Lol

@shonuff I'm a 1st time grower and have progress from planting seeds and got growth what week shall I put under light or in tent from natural sun light to hot water cupboard
@gonzo333 hey mate, I clean my tent with a mix of warm water, bleach and eucalyptus oil inbetween runs and let it dry out for a day or so with extractors running.
I never get any other bug except for fungus gnats(these blighters could survive a nuclear winter I swear lol) and I control those by hanging a mosquito dunk in my reservoir, you can also let it sit in the water you intend to feed overnight before you mix your nutrients and it will kill off the larvae in the medium without hurting your plants or transferring anything nasty into your finished product.
I try steer clear of neem oil on anything I will be consuming, not saying it isn't useful if handled correctly but I have no issues using bleach and eucalyptus oil as the bleach sterilises and the eucalyptus is a natural repellent.
I'm sure others use neem oil if you want to go that route I just don't personally.
Hope that helps 🙂

I will also say that prevention is better than cure so make sure you change clothes before you go into the room with the tent in it if you have been outside in the garden etc. The most common way pests enter your grow room is by hitching a ride on you, so if you can eliminate that then half the battle is won already.

No, unfortunately I can’t because I rarely use any pesticides including neem. I prefer to do proactive IPM so my secret is cleanliness and observation as opposed to treatment for a maybe infestation. Many years ago I bought a quart of “ready to spray” neem. I still have way more than half that bottle left and I’m not only using it on cannabis 😉. I understand the phobia of insects but they haven’t been a problem in my tents. I prefer to watch daily to spraying less desirable material on my weed.

@monkeydo I bought a bottle of neem oil just before I joined Percys and iv never even had the lid off the bottle, the lid wont be comming off either if I have my way.lol I think I bought the neem oil and a bottle of some sort of insect spray........ because I had a burned leaf, I didn't know what the fuck was going on at the time so started panic buying 😆

@monkeydo ok ill try it your way first, i keep my house clean... should i get the mosquito dunks though? should i use those to avoid gnats... usually during the summer i get fruit flies 1 or 2x (always from store produce). God i hate those things & fungus gnats sound just as bad. Might fungus gnats exist in my Ocean Forest soil?
