So I have some nice keeper girls and I wanna start experimenting with breeding. Hopefully this is gunna be a simple one to get started.
I was popping a pack of Romie by Swamp Boys (Lemon Tree x Choc Thai/G13 '88 Hashplant) and decided to throw in cuts of Psychotropics, Coastal Sage, Strawberry Lemonade (Thunderfudge), King Bee, Dracar Noir, Grapefruit XXX Og and Super Lemon Haze x Ultimate Chem '08.
I want to practice containing branch pollinations to keep some smokable flower and for future when I want to use multiple males on on plants. Will probably use paper bags for 5 days after pollinating unless you guys have any better ideas?
Here is my Lemon Tree x Choc Thai/G13 '88 Hashplant male about to drop
Looks good to me, but like Mr. Soul says, who really knows how good a male is, as it doesn't express the female traits we're looking for. I should probably be reversing one of my keeper females, but let's keep it simple to start!
This is the flower tent a week ago (lights are out rn) but they're week 3 of flower now
I'm not that exsperienced to be breeding just yet but IV always been interested in how it all works, good luck with this project I'll defo keep a eye out,IV been resourcing into making some sort of pollen catcher for future project I love the idea of breeding especially for my own specific needs and how it all works,👍
I removed the male before he dropped and put him in a temporary cupboard with just some sheets of tinfoil cupped around the plant base 👍 worked a treat and kept the pollen from getting moist from waterings.
Week 3 pollination, hand pollinated (fan off) with a small brush all the crown buds only
The Romies (Lemon Tree x Choc Thai x G13'88Hashplant) do indeed smell of hashy lemon chocolate, one standout pheno is very reminiscent of UK Cheese
@learn_n_burn1, I use parchment paper to wrap the branch, it allowed the light to come through and the branches to grow. Then after a couple weeks and the pollen was mature, I collected it.
I’m almost at the end of my seed experiment in a similar sized tent. I had a few clones of plants I grew outside in the summer and a couple males from seeds a friend gave me. I just let them all mingle with the fans on and hoped for the best.
looks like I’ll get lots of seeds of about 5 new strains. Next step will be growing out a bunch from each to find some keepers.

I dunno I see what I’m looking for in a male as much as I see what I’m looking for in a female.
after a while you get a eye in what your looking for in a male as much as you do a female.
Whatever way I hope you enjoy the breeding project it’s a heck of a adventure 😋👍
With an empty tent (finally) it was time to try this. 2 Strawberry Cough clones were treated with a purchased STS spray. As per instructions only the budsites were treated and will be retreated every 5 days. I decided to use 2 because I’ve got an abundance of these clones. One female will also be flipped now and another in 2 weeks so one way or the other something should get pollinated. Other strains are in the veg tent and will also undergo reversal once I get a chance to clone them. The first lot is nearly ready for cloning to start. Hope this works 🤞🤞🤞

My clones have been treated with STS 4 times now, every 5 days, and flowering is beginning. Still, I can’t tell if the reversal has been successful or not.
There’s not any real white pistils showing and something that looks sort of like sacs forming but time is still needed to be certain of anything. I’m concerned because I was expecting the STS to cause leaf damage but so far none has appeared. This commercial spray was a single part concentrated liquid that you only had to dilute with water. I was worried with the freshness even though it’s been kept refrigerated in an airtight container, in the dark. Theoretically 2 more sprays till we have pollen 🤞. I’ve also made some STS from scratch to try out so ima start working it on another clone. I just might end up with too many reversed plants…
All my other plants I plan to experiment with are now large enough to clone and that has already started. Jack Herer and White Widow are in the cloning station and as soon as my house guest leave I’ll start the others.

That is interesting. I would have thought you's have clear pollen sacks by now, and they may be what's forming, but I see why you are not certain. It will be interesting to see how this progress compares with the standard 2-solution STS.
Given the watering problems in my micro experiment, I decided to not waste the STS on that grow. The 2nd round of plants that I treated differently look like great candidates for reversing, but I want to be finished by the end of January in case I'm selected for the grow-off. I think reversing in my grow is going to have to wait until later. Thanks for sharing your process here with everyone!
