I would rather not change the light cycle on my mother plant but curious as to how soon a person could/should put a clone into flower? They are starting some roots and moving from the aeroponic system to soil this week.
I have heard of some growers covering one branch of a plant with a bag, so no light gets to it, for 6 extra hours compared to the rest of the plant.
This makes one of the branches flower but not the whole plant.
I have never actually seen it done, so not 100% if it works, but worth a go and reduces the need to takes a cut?
Otherwise, as long as a cutting is over four weeks old ( the moms genetics) it will be mature and will flower. If its just to test the sex, then flip it as soon as its rooted and growing
