there are 2 or 3 good ways to do this.. one like in the guide monkeys posted..
i would also have a look at (research) oven jar tech which is just neat rosin converted to a thinner stable consistency where it can be put into carts and vaped- need a fair bit of rosin to make it worthwhile though as it takes a while to do
i dont add anything to mine - i trust the terps in my homegrown to stand up and be counted lol
it is a process of trial and error a bit but worth while imo

I'll weigh in with a bit of an alternative way. I just heard @monkeydo mention on the podcast that he is interested in making carts. I love carts for their portability and stealth for sure. But I got overwhelmed with the whole process of thinning and transferring to the carts.
What I do is use pressed rosin directly in a Puffco Plus. It's really no bigger than a cart and pen but vapes rosin. It also has a cool little dipping thing to reload on the go.
I have found this to be a good alternative for me. The added bonus in my situation is that carts were the last reason I had to go to a dispensary (sorry non-legal place folks, not rubbing anything in). Now I am off the grid completely.
