I think you’d be fine @Misher21. Just make sure you shorten that first nights cycle, not lengthen the lights-on for that first day. 

In other words, adjust your timer for the new schedule at night while the lights are off.

I have never heard of annyone who has tried this light cycle,

are your plants photo ore auto?

The total of night + daytime shold normaly be 24hrs, if it is a photo plant, your curent cycle might be stressfull fore them 

I think you misunderstood or I worded it wrong my lights are on a 1212 cycle for my photos I have them set to come on at seven and go off at seven I want to know if I can change that cycle for them to come on at five and office five

Oh, i definetley misunderstod the first one, yup  

well it might be stressfull to the plant, so it might be best to wait until the next grow to change the time

however, i have done it once and it went ok, key thing to have in mind is that it is the dark periode they use to track Time, so if you decide to do this, i whold do it so that the day time gets 2 hrs shorter due to the change and the night stays 12hrs in both ends
