I recall @templegrower saying certain cultivars are recommended, you want ones that tend to be like Christmas trees verses bushes. Goal being— growing a bud stick.
What readily available cultivars are members favorites?

Yeah Monkey has it there.. something that's a fast finisher is good, short and stalky also ideal. Lanky 'sativas' are not recommended as the point of these micros are to keep them as small and compact as possible, and those long flowering plants only invite more problems to pop up along the way due to their extended lifespan, especially growing in the small pot that you would be. I personally like the Afghanis or her derivatives.. nice wide leafers. I tend to run a lot of Purple GodBud and Cali Berry (unsure of actual lineage on these - they're my own tee hee hee), both of which have minimal branching with a massive centre colaic production. I've also run some Romulan crosses (x Blue-ish Moonshine & x Romulan Kush) which did very well, as well as my own Crystalline Entity and Species 8472 (Glueberry OG #1/#2 x Romulan Kush), all of which tend to stay nicely stalky. Probably something like Bubba Kush or Critical would work well tho, or a good Hashplant if you can find one.
I've not found any that won't grow in a micro grow, and I've grown quite a few. I'd say indica dominant are easier to me because of height. Fast finishers are easier too because you don't need to keep them fed as long.
