Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, has shown some kind of support for cannabis legislation in the UK? Claiming to legalise would reduce violent crime from the black market
What do you think, will legislation reduce violent crime? Does Khan have a point, and is it for his own agenda, or for the good of the cannabis community?
I never thought of Cannabis as a violent crime cause. It would definitely give law enforcement the ability to focus on better issues than a guy with a couple grams, and it is proven to decrease alcohol related problems like domestic abuse, public fighting etc .. oh almost forgot the Opioid epidemic that is becoming less of a problem since legalization in Canada.
When its illegal its is a massive cause for violent crime, and gang activity. Weed is cheap to grow compared to how much people buy it for. Its lucrative, and people can get greedy, and a lot of money can be on the line. One of my mates brothers was killed over a 10 bag of weed when he was 16, this would have happened if it was legal in only dispensaries sold it.
I mean it might, but far less often. The market is controlled by criminals right now, it can get dangerous. To see it legalized would remove a lot of risk to the consumer.

If everyone can grow their own without interference from the govt. licences, fees, registration etc. there will be no problem with Cannabis so they can focus on the drugs that do cause problems in cities, although with class A's off the streets, the homeless population would need housing causing more issues
Sadly although I would love legalisation I don’t think it’s the answer. No matter what is done there will always be a black market of some sort which brings the violence. And unfortunately if you look back over the history of gangs in Britain the chosen weapon of choice after fists and chains is a blade. Legalise and regulate all drugs for health and safety reasons it’s the right thing to do for the population ✌️

Nailed it Phil - as far as the black market goes, it will always be there unless the government/independent dispensaries can sell it for $2 a gram lol. The dispensary I used to work at had grams for $3.50 and we got a 25% discount on top of that, made soooo many edibles that year
