Illinois could protect cannabis users. H.B. 4116 would prevent employers from denying employment based solely on cannabis consumption. It would also stop an employer from firing a medical or adult use cannabis consumer.
There are exceptions for jobs where employees handle firearms, heavy equipment, provide emergency services or work with hazardous materials.
It goes to the state senate next.

@artmann I wish My State of NY would have went the way of Oklahoma. I know once we have our first legal recreational sale everyone will see the outrageous tax the states gana levy. There was talk the other day that they wanted to make home recreational growers have to get permitted every grow, and of course the permits will cost an arm and a leg. They are all just rumors tho but I wouldn’t put it past the corrupt stooges in Albany.

Yep, for most politicians it’s just a cash grab. They suck every last dollar that they can get from the users so they can have more financial power over their constituents. Maybe we should change their title from “representatives” to LEACHES!!!

We'll see about Oklahoma. It may look good on the surface but they have some of the most extreme politicians in the US. I think they are going to reign in the wild west cannabis show. I don't trust them.
I have 3 brother-in-laws that live in Oklahoma, one a part-time preacher. He hated cannabis. It took the illness and death of my mother-in-law to finally change him a LITTLE. She was a smoker. But his friends will never change. They'll drink you under the table though.
Not a fan of Oklahoma. I doubt the weed Mecca designation label. I may be wrong. Time will tell. But in the meantime I'll stay in Illinois. The taxes are worth it for me.
