Texas ruled against hemp businesses in June, ignoring truth completely and embracing hard-core drug war bs. Texas bans smokeable hemp. The ruling against Wild Hemp business destroys the hemp industry in Texas in one ruling. They are not fighting it. They are moving out of Texas.
The blatant dishonesty shown by the judge is staggering.
“Considering the long history of the state’s extensive efforts to prohibit and regulate the production, possession, and use of the Cannabis sativa L. plant, we conclude that the manufacture and processing of smokable hemp products is neither a liberty interest nor a vested property interest the due-course clause protects.
It is enough to observe that the due-course clause, like its federal counterpart, has never been interpreted to protect a right to work in fields our society has long deemed ‘inherently vicious and harmful."

I’m not surprised by this. Unfortunately for all Texans, they will probably be one of the last states to go legal. Their medical program is well behind most other states in the area and the state doesn’t care at all apparently. For now a reasonable chunk of Texas residents drive to either New Mexico or Oklahoma to buy from dispensaries and the state looses the revenue. The money loss will eventually drag them into the fray.
