So I am starting to accumulate more weed than I consume, and as I don't like the thought of it just getting old and going to waste I was thinking about trying to make some concentrates. I do already make some infused coconut oil but I want to try something else, perhaps FECO oil.. but in Sweden it's hard to find high % alcohol. Is it very important to use high % or would 40% suffice?
Making RSO using isoproyl-alcohol makes me a bit nervous, due to the toxicity of the iso-alcohol even in small amounts.. but perhaps could someone ease my apprehensiveness?
How does FECO/RSO compare to infused coconut oil? Is it more or less the same but just different concentrations, or do you capture more cannabinoids, terps and such in FECO/RSO ?

sorry I can’t advise much on making rso or feco as I don’t yet make them..
I can recommend making hash though .. ice water or dry sift

The higher the better mate, I'm not sure but i would think it takes high strength alcohol to dissolved all the trichomes. If it isn't strong enough they wont dissolved.

Yeah, you're gonna want to use at least 95% v/v some alcohol. .. some people say Bacardi 151 rum can work, but more for a Green Dragon type of tincture there, not so much RSO/QWISO. 190 proof Ethanol is definitely preferred but isopropyl works just fine. It's what I use here in Canada when making my own. Cheaper and MUCH easier to acquire. I just purge it for a bit extra time in the rice cooker and have never had any issues with it as of yet. Maybe ask me in 10 years lol. If you have access to a vacuum oven tho, then you're laughing. But those are a bit harder to come by.. but yeah, as long as you can do a nice long purge, you should be okay.
The difference between RSO and infused coconut oil is actually pretty big - RSO is technically an extract, whereas infused coconut oil is an infusion. Extracts (aka concentrates) are generally much more potent than infusions as they dissolve and then concentrate the resin when the solvent is boiled off, where an infusion just absorbs the cannabinoids and binds them to their carrier molecules (fat in the case of oils like coconut). Carrier oils have a maximum absorption capacity though (aka the saturation point) and can only hold so much. An extract in comparison has no ceiling and could theoretically go to 99.999999999999999% pure, if you have the right tools to purify and isolate the compounds. But that's another, much longer discussion.. hehehe.

Fantastic reply TG! Thank you, that makes things alot clearer. I must say I am seriously considering trying to make RSO instead of FECO 
.. the alternative would be constucting a distillery and make my own alcohol.. but thats illegal

Also interesting to consider that distilling ones own alcohol is massively more socially acceptable than it is to grow cannabis (where I live), while it's actually possible to do actual damage, even killing one self with alcohol, and I would say pretty much impossible to do the same with cannabis. Interesting but sad.
