[Sticky] Mason Jar Decarboxylation Method

everyone decarbs their weed when they smoke or vape it ? 

This is an excellent video. I never thought of doing this. I suppose it retains more flavour too. 

I skipped decarbing some left over trim and wish I had researched more now.

I usually use my ABV from vape. The cookies from that are quite strong. 

Excellent content as always @cloudy_kitchen I defo need to give this a try, I only have a fan assisted oven I can’t decarb my weed normally I’m terrified it will blow away 😂

@green-beard cheers bro! you could always try decarbing inside a mason jar in a water bath too?

just make sure the water never boils and if you have a thermometer 97 C is a good temperature to decarb it.

Every 15 minutes or so take it out of the water and stir with a kebab stick to make sure it isn't sticking together too much

Usually takes around 45 mins-1 hour the bud will smell significantly different once it is decarbed too

so do the same process but the jar standing in a pot of boiling water, my jars are glass but are clip jars if you know what I mean, should I just leave them loose as in Unclipped I’ll take a photo and shot you what I mean in a few

If it is fully submerged it may resemble more of a sous-vide decarboxylation and the heat is more evenly distributed (although the cannabis isn't fully sealed)

I have tried both methods and both work very well - I was thinking about trying a long decarb in my slow cooker, but I don't think the water will get hot enough TBH

 Every person who makes their own edibles has their own methods that can be varied according to tolerance, experience, and even tastes, so I feel like experimentation in your own home is key.

I never say definitively that one method is better than another because I simply don't know and have yet to see legitimate academic studies on decarboxylation methods, but, also, even if there were, the lab would be highly, highly controlled compared to a home kitchen

@diy-rik AVB is insane man, I love it 🤑 🤑 🤑  it is noticeable, even for a seasoned edibles consumer, when an edible is made with AVB

I’m just going to say this method is the easiest and also highly effective. When the jar cooled fully some terpenes were condensed on inside of the lid. It was interesting as you could put just a dab on your tongue and get an immediate buzz but it was short lived. This was my only experience with pure terpenes but very interesting.
