Just wanted to see what everyone on the forum thinks about Cloning Machines. I, admittedly am not very good at cloning, about an 25% rate and was looking at some of these “Cloning Machines” too bump that % up a bit. Some of the ones I see out there like TurboKlone and clone king look kinda cheap for how much they want for em anywhere from 70-150 bucks. So my Question, is the Juice worth the squeeze? And if so any brand recommendations, and if not just curious what everyone is doing.

Imo I wouldn't spend the money, just try and find out where your going wrong, throwing pictures up on here and asking will help, especially when you see it going wrong because if someone can identify the problem you've learnt for next time!. Get better cloning yourself and get 100% success rate for free. You can grow bud really well, so learn to clone really well!! Good luck with it all dude, I hope to see a diary started from clone one day Fist Bump

I am planning on trying a regular plant tray with a humidity dome, set on top of a seedling mat with a thermostat set at 80F.  Seems way cheaper and more flexible than a dedicated cloning machine, and I think transplanting from rock-wool plugs would be less shock to the babies cloned in a spray or bubbled mist environment.  Similarly, you could make a bubbler/airstone cloner for little money and a bit of know-how. There's my 2-cents worth.

@im_sparky exactly what I did with my clones recently. Made my own hydro cloner.

@im_sparky I'm with you 100%.

My first couple attempts at cloning were a bit of a mess but now on my 3rd go, I've added a humidity dome and was a lot better at selecting my cuts and things look promising so far.  I'm at 7 days today and seeing some roots forming.  I tried 3 different methods all at once; rockwool cubes, jiffy plugs, and just a shot glass with water and they all seem to be working since the environment is decent.

I tried some before in a homemade bubbler, but I think the transplant was a lot harder than it would be from a cube/plug.

@gworton yeah, that humidity would be a big key to success since the plant can't take up any water until it grows roots.  Have you tried any cloning gels?  I hear honey or a bit of a aloe leaf are supposed to work great.

@im_sparky I've got a powdered cloning agent that I dipped the cuttings in and mixed a bit with the water that I initially soaked the plugs with.  Looks like the gels might be a little easier to work with?

@gworton I think the powders are hormones. The gels are supposed to help seal the wound and prevent air bubbles from getting into the stem, which would block water uptake.

@mcgrower and @WeedKiller right now i currently don’t have any clones going but, I use a tray and humidity dome with jiffy peat pellets and a heat mat set at 75F. I’ve tried just water as well but still consistently 25% success. I also have tried cloning gels they sometimes give me a bit more success but not much.
