Questions Flood & Drain Coir Wicking Ability
If there are two identical pots filled with coir (say ACi 5 us-gal) sitting in water (Pot1 is in 1" and Pot2 is in 2") will they both fully saturate the coir given enough time? i.e. does the flood depth affect over all volume of which can be saturated or is it just saturation rate?
When it's saturated, is there a gradient to the nutrient content from bottom to top? For instance will a plant with small roots still get enough food as one with lots of roots. Or does the flood depth have to change depending on the plants development?
Yes im overthinking it lol
@greengrowsir That question (like most other things) is beyond my brain power.lol I'll give this post a bump though and hopefully some of the other lads will be able to help you with this 🙂
In the corridors of power where the talks are in full swing
If you can't say it with flowers Then don't say anything
The wicking systems out there have thick ropes going up the side of the pot, and they tell you to top water till the roots grow deep enough.
So my guess is there is not so much wicking with coco alone, except possibly laterally.
