Questions Reservoir ph

@discobiscuitt Afternoon Ive found it easier to maintain Ph in my res by using a small fountain water pump to circulate the water and not using the airstone.

seems the airstone adds co2 to the water causing the Ph to increase, once i Ph my res it tends to stay close for a day or 2

 @Twisted said it right, plus keep the rez covered and the light out of it.

Autowatering is my go to and I don’t run airstones on a res that’s going to last 4 days or less. So far there’s been zero issues for me and like Woodi said, I cover the res and keep it in the dark. Another option to airstones can be using hydrogen peroxide in the feed to prevent souring in a long term res. Either way I vote no on airstones for short term, they mess with ph.

@discobiscuitt so I had this issue with mine I'd have to readjust every 3 days to get in range untill I switched nutrients it was the same brand I normally use but it was for hydro and once you set the pH it buffers itself really well after 5 days the pH as only moved 0.1 of pH which is acceptable I think anyway it's plant magic hydro line I use obviously other brands are available but there one of the only ones I seen that advertise it keeps the pH stable once set automatically 👌👌👌

Gotta whip up a self draining system somehow and will be nice not having to worry about it.

The Advanced Nutrients ph Perfect line also does this very well. Been using them for many years now.

@monkeydo interesting I here mixed reviews of advanced some people swear by them other people say they can taste when weed has been grown with advanced nutrients like it leaves a distinctive taste no matter what strain it is I might give them ago one day just to try them I've seen your grows results speak for themselves

@mr_bud Ive run Fox Farms stuff in the early days and the flavor was about the same as I remember. I only use the Advanced Nutrients A&B, not all the extra stuff. Everything else from cal/mag to PK are different brands. To improve flavor I'm working on supplementing the feed with commercial compost tea, kelp, and chitin. Maybe I should try some other base nutes for comparison but nobody who has smoked my weed has complained. They usually take 2-3 hits and get real relaxed and quiet for an hour or so lol. Bunch of lightweights!

A few other people here run advanced nutrients so let's ask the question:

Do you find that the Advanced Nutrients line changes the flavor of your cannabis?

@monkeydo I've used a+b from advanced and big bud a fair few times and can't say I noticed anything that would make me say " thats grown with advanced nutrients".

I'm running shogun coco line atm, guess I'll have a better opinion when I harvest. 

But still I'm no scientist but I'd say theres zero difference in taste, only when it come to carbohydrates I guess but even then it won't be down to brand, more down to application of the right things at the right ratio at the right time sort of thing.

Ive known people to use unbranded cheap nutrient powders and get better results then me. 

Interested if anyone could tell the difference to be honest.
