I have finally got everything i need to start my first coco grow I can't wait😎 . Im going to be popping two of the cheese seeds i have along with the dos si dos 33 tommorow. Any help along the grow would be greatly appreciated. I will post some pics tommorow of girls being put in to there little germination home. I will keep you posted 🤠 .

@coops98 Other than the genetics our grows are identical...same tent, light, nutrients. I'm also growing in coco for the first time...made the switch from Happy Frog. Happy growing buddy 👍

I do have one question for you tho macky how long during flowering do you typically feed pk13 14 for is it only for the 1 week or do you use it for longer thanks again macky 😎

If this is the first time growing in coco I would recommend not getting crazy with the nutes in the beginning.
I grow in ProMix BX ( coco/perlite/pete with micorrhizae ), Mega Crop 2 part, Silica and Bud Explosion for flower and us PH Up/Down as needed and my water is R/O. Could I do more? yes, but my plants are pretty good and my last Candylicious produced 8.6oz and I grow in a 2 gal pot with a res below it.

I think thats the best thing to do better to feed under than over and burn the girls. Thats bloody mental that mate what a harvest i would be over the moon if i could ever get to the stage where im pulling 8.6oz out of my tent of 1 plant bloody nora i would be a happy man 🤣
Today is the day I get my seeds popping. I have went for the old and trusty wet paper towel method. I have used a plastic tub with a lid to put my seeds in with a wet paper towel on bottom and top. Not drenched in water but not dry just damp. I have placed the container in my airing coboard where the boiler is it's nice and warm in there and also very dark. I will check on them this time tomorrow and keep you posted 😎
how long during flowering do you typically feed pk13 14 for is it only for the 1 week or do you use it for longer
Personally I use it from when the flowers start forming, and use it for the rest of flower, until pre harvest flush. Maybe about 6 weeks, but I do know of some growers who use it for less time. Itll be good to ask the forum I think, get a consensus. Good idea for a thread if you wanted to start it
@macky thanks for that bud that makes alot more sense to me now. I kept seeing people only say for a week and then others say throughout the grow. I would imagine you're alot less likely to run in to any pottasium deficiencys running it for longer. I will ask the weed tribe 😎
one thing about your popping seeds, I would make sure that container is cracked so it can get air
i tried the whole warm popping of seeds using a seed mat and to be honest I’ve had way better results with just putting it in a cool dark place like 68f for a temp
so I run my PK all the way through flower like @Macky said, however at around week 6 I start to cut back on my nutrients just a little at a time. If I’m flushing then I cut everything about a week before I think it will finish. If not flushing I just continue to lower the nutrients till I finish.
as for the one week, I think they are talking about doing a transition to flower feed. This is where you bump up the PK before flipping to flower. I’ve done this before but really haven’t seen much of a difference between that or just flipping to flower and going with my flower nutrient schedule.
it’s all preference on you and how the plant likes to transition. If you’ve grown it multiple times you can tell what and when she likes it 😎

Thanks for that buddy that makes alot more sense to me now that was the only thing thats been confusing me lately the pk. It doesnt feel so daunting to me now so thanks mate. @coops98 I don’t use your nutrients so not quite sure on those however when I used the floranova nutes they were a 2 bottle situation and I always used a bit of both. In flower it was very little of the veg and a lot more of the bloom but I also used a bloom booster “PK” and just added that on top of my normal feeding schedule as recommended
now I use mega crop 2 part and that feeding schedule is pretty similar and I add the bloom/bud booster on top of that feed schedule also. I don’t change my normal “base” nutrients because I’m adding a booster.
@johncarlson21 Thanks again mate i will give that a crack when i get to that stage i will just taper back abit on the and b when i use pk. I will do the same as you and macky and run the pk for abit longer. i geuss if your running pk for longer your less likely to come across any potassium defiencys i would imgine.
I just went to see how the seeds were getting on the dos si dos 33 has popped 😄. The 2 cheese seeds haven't popped yet but they have plenty of time. I have placed the dos si dos 33 into a plastic pint glass inside of another with tape on to stop the light getting to the roots.I also put a plastic pint cup on top with a gap for air to get in. My starting water is 0.1 ec I have put a tiny amount of canna a and b and abit of rhizo which brought it to 0.2 ec. The pH of the solution was 5.9. I thought a little feed before I get her started on the feeding schedule before her little cotyledon leaves are out.
Another seed has popped the cheese and has been put in her new home. Hopefully my other seed pops I still have hope for the lil fella hopefully not to long now and she can join the others in the tent.

The girls have sprouted. I checked on them this morning before work and could see they had just broken through the coco. I checked on there progress this afternoon and evening and they are on there merry way. I'm not going to feed today as my coco is still quite saturated from when I first waterd Sunday. I will keep you updated 😄
Today I had to do some wizardry to get my RO filter fitted. I tried to fit it under the sink but my water feed pipe wasn't long enough under the sink for what I wanted to do. I was going to buy some flexible metal pipping but the issues I had was getting in behind there to do the bolt up to seal it up. So now I have gone and got a fitting that goes on the end of a tap. It's safe to say it's doing its job 😎 🤪 .
I have checked on the girls this afternoon they look like they have settled in well cheese 1 is just looking abit to cute 🤓 . I have noticed the stems on the cheese is alot more sturdier than the dos si dos 33. I have my fan on the lowest setting and the cheese doesent even move but the dosidos has a little movement. I wasn't to sure if my fan was hitting them or not but it was definitely hitting them just sturdy lil girls🫡🫡.Rh76. Temp 75 to 77 f.
Day 6 from being planted. The girls true leaves are becoming more pronounced 🤗 . They are chugging along now. Iv been making sure to check the hight of my light each day from canopy to make sure there in a
safe range. 😎
Day 8 of being planted. I gave them 80ml of feed each through a 10ml syringe. I used
0.5ml sesi cal mag
0.5ml canna a
0.5ml canna b
1 ml rhizotonic.
Per litre
I added extra water to the souloution to dilute it to my desired ec. The ec of the souloution was 0.378 the run off ec 0.398. The pH of the feed was PhD to 6.00. This week has flown by my body clock has now become my light cycle for my grow tent. I'm loving it I wish I started sooner really. I will keep you posted. 😎 .
