The previous grow is still curing in its jars, and I have just laid two Gorilla Glue #4 seeds between wet paper towels. Growing this stuff sure is addictive.
I spent all yesterday, merely days after my apartment visitation, rebuilding my grow tent. The tent itself was the quick part of course.
I did find an acceptable method of rinsing prebuffered coco, as Fox Farms 70/30 comes, when you don't have proper outdoor space (but access to a balcony). Possibly even if you do. Anyway I put one pot's worth of coco into an old pillow case, filled a 5 gallon pail with about 3 gallons of water, and then dunked the bag of coco into the water. It takes a LOT of mixing, like a cat paws a blanket, to infiltrate the water throughout the coco mix but eventually it was like soup, contained in the bag. I left it like that for 5 or 10 minutes while I prepared a second 5 gallon bucket the same way. Squeezed out the bag as much as possible back into the pail, then dunked it into fresh water, more mixing, more waiting, and I found after 3 iterations of this the EC of the runoff was just over 400, which is the background EC of my water. Anyway, very little fuss or muss except hauling 5 gallon pails back and forth.
The previous grow was my first with auto irrigation and it took far too long to sort out. Yesterday I got the irrigation sorted within a day. It pays to have good quality stop cocks. I dosed the pots with myco, watered it in by hand. The irrigation will remain off and they'll get hand watered until I see first true leaves, then start them at 1mL/gallon of Grow A, B, and calmag. Increase dosage by 1mL per reservoir until EC hits 1200, then level off.
I will be doing everything possible to avoid stretch and instead concentrate on two plants each producing a good dozen or so bud sites each. I think the culprit with the last grow, besides my not mercilessly trimming bud sites post supercropping, was the lighting coupled with a five week veg period while I screwed with the irrigation. Both of these issues are already resolved, and assuming everything goes to plan, I should end up with what GG#4 was famous for.
Tomorrow, or the day after, when I have a 2cm sprout, I'll drop them into a half inch hole salted with myco and tuck them into their home for life. I will turn off the irrigation for the first week, until I feel comfortable the plant won't float away, ha ha (not really), then switch over, as I said, to a mild nute mix.

Both seeds sprouted overnight and by this evening their shoots were a cm long so I planted them, turned off the irrigation, and gave them a good watering. And I just remembered I was going to dose them a second time with myco, I will sprinkle it on top and water it in.
One of the two has come up, but 24 hours later no sign of the second seed.
I used my finger to scrape a mm at a time from the coco until I found the seed, deeper than I thought and growing down.
I covered it with a cm of coco and now I don't know if I should start another seed for this grow, and have the plants on different growth, or just grow one plant this time.
For now I'm waiting to see what it looks like tomorrow.
Thankfully it has come up already, although it sits in the bottom of a half inch hole. When she grows enough, the hole can fill up.
Tomorrow I'll start them on the light nutes. Light is hanging 20" above the pots at 25% output.
One of the two plants has three cotyledons.
It is growing well, her sister is still in the hole.
This will result in a strong plant, I hope.
The triple cotyledon plant is thriving, the slow plant is being slow. ☹
Be that as it may, I'm not sacrificing the strong to support the weak. Sorry plants it's a dog eat dog world out there. So, as water is not sufficient for my big girl's needs, they're on 1mL/gal of nutes and 2mL/gal of calmag. EC was 560 and the water alone 395. I have made a pact with myself to always have 1mL/gal more calmag than whatever the nutes are at. If they tolerate that well, next res fill they'll get 1 more per gallon. And so forth, per AN guidelines, except at about 1/4 the dosage.
I'll see where this abundance of calmag gets the final EC, I still want to keep that in the 1200 range for veg and flower.
