Grow Diaries G13 Haze SCROG by monkeydo
Been watching the calendar and not the trichomes on the G13 Haze and then noticed the sugar leaves starting to die. A quick check with the microscope says this girl is going to ready soon.
Looks like significant amber showing up. She has been moved to a water only schedule and will get the chop in a few days. It will be nice to rearrange the light to accommodate the remaining plants at a better angle.
The G13 Haze got the chop today. The trichomes and the sugar leaves were screaming at me to chop her so she is now hanging
The smell was intense and she was super sticky too. In 10-14 days it will get trimmed and weighed but she sure looked ripe.
The remaining 2 plants in one gallon pots now have the entire tent to themselves. I’ve never grown something with absolutely no training before and I’m not a fan of this at all. These probably would have done tons better with just a single topping but they will provide us with a sample of these strains for tasting. I’m really not used to seeing this much wasted space in a tent.
The Game Changer is just a week or so from flush now and the Chem OG is only half way through flower. Each will probably give 1-2 ounces of good quality bud. These are really just larger versions of micro grows.
Thanks for the read Percy Growers. Your input is always welcome so feel free to comment or question.
With everything under control it was time to take a look at the triches on the Game Changer. First thing I noticed was I was wrong about the training, that plant was topped once and had the suckers removed (stoner moment, forgot). Guess I was focused on the chop the other day and didn't pay attention either. The 4 cola structure is nice, much more level, and an excellent proof of concept for the next SOG run. In contrast the natural untrained plant looks like it will yield significantly less
The bud structure is also nicer on The Game Changer plant. Yield might exceed my expectations... YES!!
These are micro runs only in 1 gallon pots so be kind ..... The leaves are starting to fade early so trichomes were checked and no ambers at all yet but few clears either
I can afford to let her go 2 more weeks before that space is spoken for so that's the plan. Finish the current res and switch her to well water for flushing
The Chem OG, the un-topped and untrained plant has much smaller buds in comparison and a much more uneven canopy.
She is a month behind so there's still time for fattening up this one but by the looks of her topping is the only way to grow. Probably 4-5 weeks left on this one is my guess so might have to be creative soon. Up to now these plants were playing second chair but its cool to see there's actually good data coming out of this that will really help with the next cycle. This is the hobby that keeps on giving and every day is a school day. So ends the second update this week. Until next week, grow em big and sticky Percy Growers!!
And just like that,,, the grow takes a detour.
The Chem OG from Female Seeds is showing lots of 'nanners unfortunately, pulled 4 this morning. I seem to remember Chillbert saying he wasn't excited about this breeder but I had the beans to try for free and here we are. Because of where the grow is, the only other plant in the tent will be chopped in a week or so, there's really no danger to that crop and if this goes seedy.... seed weed is better than nothing and I can't pop anything new for a while so she gets a pass on the misbehavior and will go to harvest. No idea what triggered this and I'll need to watch for more every day now. The tent was rearranged after the Haze was chopped so air and light are better but no light changes and humidity and airflow are good. This one might just be one of those super picky plants that don't want to be messed with, either that or unstable genetics. Ill run her again in a micro grow and if the next one throws bananas these beans will go into the wild.
A banana a day keep the harvest away ☹️
caught this young one again this morning. Looks like it’s going to be a daily thing for a while. I’m tempted to stop looking because like I said, no big deal in this tent anymore.
This sentence in trim jail is now served and over
For a grow that was rushed I’d call her a win as she ended up giving one gallon, 4.25 ounces of fragrant and sticky bud plus another 1.6 ounces of high quality trim for oil. Could have been much better if the veg time would have been available but at least I got it done. The high is very typical of haze, very clear and very up and energetic with just enough indica in there to let you zone out and focus on something. The taste is of light citrus, tropical fruit, and light spicy notes. Quite mild and easy to smoke compared to some other haze cultivars I’ve had but maybe this is just grown better 😉 After a few months it should change flavor profiles only get better.
The remaining 2 plants are now on a well water flush and will be chopped on Thursday. The Chem OG was supposed to be left till after holiday but the genetics aren’t impressing at all so she on to the chop as well.
What we have here is a failure to communicate. Luke you ain't gonna send the night in the box. You got your mind right. LOL hah glad your out of the box! Congrats on the harvest. peace
Very nice indeed Monkey. Tasty harvest grown with care, what more could you ask for?
Nice hall there Monkey
Tick Tick, time is up! Chop day for everything today. Not an impressive harvest but far better than nothing.
UUDDLLRR a.k.a. gamechanger, Topped once and grown in one gallon pots. The pics aren’t the best as they were rushed. Buds are good and solid and will be an easy trim. At least a couple of ounces, probably more.
Then the Chem OG. This was a disappointment. She’s completely untrained in one gallon pots. Between the hermie and foxtails, not much good to say. Took her a little early as she’s not worth the time. Hopefully the smoke will be nice.
The tent was cleaned and the extractor is on low. The plants will spend at least the next week in the dark drying.
Next seeds for this tent…. “Crystalline Entity”, a TempleGrower exclusive 😉
After 10 days drying everything is in the jars now and the tent is empty again. In one gallon pots the Big Bud yielded 54 grams and the ChemOG was 33 grams. Both are good results with the 1 gallon SOG run right around the corner this shows that next grow has big potential as there will be 10 plants in that grow.
Now for the initial tasting and smoke report. The UUDDLLRR has really solid buds. The taste is very mild and the high is very relaxing and sedative. Perfect for the late evening hours. The ChemOG has the typical Chem taste and not much of the Kush flavor. The high is a clearly hybrid type high with the beginning being energized and the end being lazy and relaxed. A bit too much will definitely put you straight into the sleepy mode. Both are very easy to smoke so it’s a win on both. Thanks for the read Percy’s, time to put a fork in this grow because it’s now DONE! On to the next adventure.
