Title: Mainlining
Interalia666,
Original Sensible Seeds GG4 photoperiod - feminized,
Link to strain: https://www.originalseedsstore.com/original-sensible-seeds-gorilla-glue-4~20373 White Widow
Medium:
Soil (Plant Magic) in 5 gallon Airpot
Size of Grow Area and number of plants:
1 x 1 x 2 M grow tent with One plant
Lighting:
Platinum P300 LED
Extraction:
4" hyperfan with speed controller
Pot Sizes:
5 gallon airpot
Nutrients:
Plant Magic Grow, Bloom, Bio-Sillicon, RoHS Mychorrizza, Fulvic/Humic acid, Cal/Mag
Other Equipment:
PH/ EC meter, floor fans, ceiling fans, Inkbird Humidity controller, 11 litre dehumidifier
Plan for the grow:
Mainlined for 16 colas. Will remove larfy or small buds sites , possibly some under canopy defoliating, staking for support and to 'shape' the plant.
Current photos are 8 weeks from seed and I am waiting for my seperate batch of autos to finish (7-10 days) before I flip GG4 to flower
Genetics appear to be excellent (so far) with no stress shown by the plant despite my mutilations, decapitations and twistings
Also this plant is happy in a varity of humidities and has grown through 60-65 RH down to 50-55 RH withouty complaint
Very vigorous growth so far and my problem will be in keeping her manageable.
Good beginner strain as it is very tolerant
Very nice work mate, done some mainlining myself, bring tidy plants, I love it!
Looking forward to seeing this beauty grow mate! Thanks for sharing it with us
Cheers La, mad little triffid this one and I just know that I am going to be pushing it in a 1 x 1 x 2 by the time we get to the end.
Any tips and tricks for training in the post-topping period gratefully recieved.
I could teach you how to play guitar mate, but that's about it!
I can already play pretty well mate 😉 lol
Invisible sun are great lights mate, you've made a good choice with getting them. We have a discount code for them guys, hope you used it man
I like your style Interalia, sounds very similar to the way I grow
can already play pretty well mate ? lol
Amen to that my Phrygian friend.
Dragged my stack and axe into the growroom. Currently experimenting by playing half of my girls Guns n Roses, AC-DC, Foo Fighters, and the other half Barry Manilow, Ah-Ha, David Cassidy to see if it helps or hinders vigour ?
The problem is, if the latter three get the best results, could you bring yourself to playing them EVERY day for 18 hours a day even if it doubled vigour - ?
Rock on dude
Taaaake - oooonnn - meeeeee
tayyyyyk oooorrrrnnnnn maaaayyyyyy
There you got mate, you just did it in your head pmsl 😉
...............and now it is stuck there. It is like being serenaded by Jasper Carrott
Must admit, I love all accents except 'RP', one of my bezzies was a lad from Wolverhampton. He could read a shopping list and have me crying with laughter (and I am a bloody scouser!)
I will admit to liking A-ha...still listen to now occasionally...Enya too
Beautiful job
So, new light landed, installed in situ and it has taken me a few days to figure out and adjust my temp/RH control for my grow space.
The first thing I decided was to flip the 12/12 light schedule to night, i.e. lights on at 12.00am and lights off at 12 pm. We have suffered a good dose of cold and wet weather lately and the nights have been getting down to 54f. By running the lighting at night it helped to negate the cold drop without supplementary heating. I also reduced the airflow on the extractor fan to help keep some of the heat in the growspace for longer. My dehumidifier kept things at at a peachy 47 - 53 RH as well as being a supplementary source of heat. Growing on a shoestring ?
This did help me discover something that GG4 does not like (despite bending, twisting, topping, etc) and that is cold. Her leaves looked a little sorry for themselves but perked up as the temp rose. The environment is now more stable and I have tweaked lighting routines, dehumifier settings and RH controller settings to keep things a bit more consistent at 79/80f lights on and 68f lights off. That said, I will still be scrutinising and adjusting the Temp/RH/Day/Night environment for several weeks.
Nutrient wise, I have not yet started with the bloom/flower supplements and will wait until around the end of week 2 into flower before starting. Gave a good organic nitrogen and Cal/Mag feed and two PH'd water feeds in the week that I flipped to leave a reasonable charge of nitrogen in the soil for the initial stages of flower, when nitrogen is still necessary albeit in reduced amouts to the veg phase. I have stopped the bio-silicon and will adjust my PH range to 6.6 - 6.8, going forward, this is the best range suited for Phosphorus and Potassium uptake. It is worth knowing that Phosphorus in particular, cannot be absorbed as well at PH's under 6.6.
Will do a little more LST to even out the canopy and a little defoliation of 'larf' bud sites lower down but I am going to leave the leaves as far as possible, alone. I have always defoliated around the bottom third of my previous plants, however, there is plenty of current thinking from clever folk with PHd's in plant biology that say do not touch those photosynthetic power panels (leaves), so I thought I would give it a try. There are plenty of sages on this forum who would also advise the same.
So that is about two thirds through week one of flower, pretty busy few days, though I still need to clean my growspace up following my recent autoflower harvest.
The pictures are from shortly after lights on.
Lookin most excellent. That's how I add some heat to my tent too - our nights are cold AF and my basement isn't much better. Running the lights at night definitely helps with that. And I definitely agree in regards to the leaving the solar panels on.. I think you should only remove as much foliage as you absolutely have to as is necessary for airflow/tidying.
Half way through week 3 of flower.
Light defoliation to aid airflow and remove shading leaves.
Maintainence LST to keep good separation and help light penetration
Excellent node growth - short and stocky with plenty of bud sites.
Expected Harvest circa Dec 25th - Jan 1st.
Not a bad way to bring in the New Year.
