Plan for the grow:

Like most grows Im going to fly by the seat of my pants Smile .  I have a rough idea but really depends if all the seeds germinate and how quickly they grow... Stay tuned lol

Did a little MonkeyDo TEK with some rolled up sand paper.  Got 5 seeds wet about an hour and a half ago 🤞🤞.

Looks like 3 of the 5 seeds cracked open already and have a tap root peaking out.  Good enough for me, decided to plant them now before I butcher the tap roots when they are a 1/4" long.

Ended up using Rapid Rooters over peat pods (just cause I had some and they have a shelf life).

Put them in Tent #2 (along with a few friends) with the LED dimmed all the way down.

Very nice!! I've never had any issues germinating these beans.. they're nice and fresh.  I have 5 of these going right now! 4 are about a 10 days old, and the 5th will be flipped at the end of the week! Race ya!!

Thanks for the IG linkage there too!

And if you wanted to read the original breeder's description, check out this link from Jordan of The Islands.

So already a bit of an issue with the Rapid Rooters.  3 have sprouted but seems like the roots aren't actually making their way down into the pods but more sitting on them forcing the sprouts up.

When I picked the 1 up the sprout did a 360 in the Rapid Rooter 😑.  1st time using them for seeds, live and learn I suppose.

Did a quick fix 🤞 and only butchered the first pod "transsprouting".  Will wait for the others 'break ground' and probably do the same

No such luck with the others.  Not sure what I did wrong with the Rapid Rooters, package says works for seeds and cuttings🤔

Decided plant them in solo cups today, was worried the peat pods were drying out too quickly between watering.

I ended up using some of my garden soil, perlite and a touch of coco for the solo cup medium.  Amended with small scoop of worm casings 2-0-0 and a pinch of Gaia Green 4-4-4 (sorry TG, it is the last time I will buy the stuff 🦇💚)

Hey! Nothing wrong with Gaia Green, haha. I'm just a purist.. and a bad one at that as I don't always necessary practice what I preach anyways... 😉.

Haven't shown these ladies the attention they deserve.   Accidentally over watered the whole tent a few days back and everything just seems sllloooooooowww to recover.  Probably bump up the lights to 50% after the babies are out (see micro grow)

Sorry I keep forgetting to update this dairy.  Been very busy but that's no excuse... being a stoner is tho 😁

Anyway

20200910 174853
20200910 174922

These got transplanted into 2 gallon fabric pots a couple of days ago.  They seemed ok yesterday but today (or last night) my exhaust fan shut off and temps were at 97F when I got home 😑.

Not the first time this has happened!!!  Think a got a lemon because this is the 3rd time its happened when set to "ON".  The "SMART" setting is even worse, randomly changes the set temp and either turns the fan off or full power with the alarm beeping.  The analog version I have in the 4x4 is much more reliable.

Sure the plants will bounce back but a little peeved I paid more for this (AC Infinity) unit and its sooo much worse, at least it wasn't in flower.

@grower-urban I am reading "Teaming with Fungi" by Jeff Lowenfells and he mentions, with comparative pictures, that plants growing in symbiosis with beneficial mycorrhizal fungi can stand better against extreme situations (flood, droughts, high/low temps) Do you use them?

@galandil only what's already in the soil (most ProMix blends have some).  Did get a sample pouch of microb booster so I will give it a try

Literally forgot I made this diary, sorry.  These plants have received the same great attention as my micro grow 😅😁 (so your all caught up lol)

Switched them to the 2x2 tent this evening and flipped the lights to 12/12.  Would have preferred them under the ISH for flowering but started another batch of solo cups and they won't all fit in the 2x2 (plus the TS600 has done a decent job in the past).

The 1 I deemed to be the best (the 1 in front) got its first application of some homebrew STS spray 🤞🤞 it works as I had to go a little outside of the box to source Sodium Thiosulfate and not 100% I got the ratio and/or quantities right 🤔😅.

If it works I'll post exactly how I made it and links to where I sourced the ingredients.

Nothing to really update.  The plant I'm trying to reverse has been sprayed ever other day.  They still all look the same, a little bit of stretching but no preflower yet.  The only thing that concerns me is the separation of the STS spray

20201008 190551

When I first mixed the solution the colour turned darker (like extremely weak tea but told that was ok) but now it's clear with sediment at the bottom.  With a good shake it kinda gets mixed in but not sure if the particles are actually making it through the nozzle or not.  Either way good learning experience but 🤞🤞 it works
