My favorite strain of all time if you are lucky enough to get the right pheno. First legit seeds I ever grew, from the Seed Bank back in 1989. I’ve found the Seedsman brand SK1’s to be absolute beauties who really remind me of days of old. Younger friends ask why I would want to grow this, as they have only have what I would call bunk skunk.
In other words, garbage. Great SK1 used to be all over the place, now she’s long gone. There is not much like it. There are Indica and Sativa Phenos, and when the strain is done right and allowed to ripen it’s tough to beat.
I very much enjoy growing, it’s not about yield or cash crop for me. It’s all personal. So I love taking a stab at the classics from time to time.
Skunk 1 is a cross of Afghani, Thai, and Colombian. It’s pretty much the trifecta of the world’s top landrace strains, bred until practical to grow and remarkably consistent.
I grew 10 seeds and they were all popped and growing in 1 day. Awesome stock congrats Seedsman. Btw I had these in storage for a couple years and still 10/10. They looked exactly the same and I gave away 4 of them. I busted one in a growroom stumble, and have one flowering now for a couple weeks.
These were started as seed 9/24 and are now 2 months old, vegging in coco the whole time under a 600w LED set on the veg bulbs.
I mix my solution for about 475 PPM’s using a bunch of stuff.

Aw hell yeah, this is excellent to see. I was literally just looking at these seeds last night - I am trying to find a good version of that old school Skunk, Seedsman's seemed pretty good. Awesome to have some actual feedback on them though - will be ordering these whenever I do decide to finally pull the trigger. ?

By the way, these are fantastic for outdoor use in the Northeast, or just about any climate where you want a hearty, disease resistant, mold resistant, consistent winner. Yields are excellent and I’ve grown outdoor SK1 that made my arms numb.

Any Boston area folks here? I’m looking for a couple things.

Edited ( sorry man, we can not encourage meeting up and exchanging plants, even if it is legal Smile )

Weekly update. I have been doing my best to keep these short and squat as they are going to go under a Scrog.  I’m vegging under an LED and it keeps the internodes short. I will start to flower these as soon as I anticipate room in my flowering lab. They are in 1 gallon of coco, I’ll put them into 5 gal pots of coco when I flower them. These have been vegging about 50 days, I’ll switch them to 12/12 in about a week when I can clear the flowering lab in 2 weeks. The one plant that is flowering is a SK1 I stuck in there just to see how it is going to bud. It’s the light green one, and it’s been flowering for 10 days.

Such a great strain. I can’t imagine you will be disappointed. Don’t pick them too early! And they stretch about 3x.

For sure I will... if I actually decide to pop them... now that I have my seeds I'm having a very hard time deciding what to run... hahaha. As is tradition. Whatever happens though, there'll be a diary for it so, no worries.

Team I grew the Seedsman version for almost 10 years straight before we had a flood that ruined the whole operation. I only ordered a 10 pack. Like this batch, they were all exactly the same. Talk about great breeding. I cloned, recloned, for so long. This strain never failed to deliver. Consistent fat yields, hard buds, and I never developed an immunity or increased tolerance to this gal. This is kind of what started it all.

Seedsman have some great genetics. I was surprised when i first tried them. Cheap seeds, wasn't expecting much, but some of my best grows have come from seedsman seeds. Quality company
