TempleGrower's Fun with Photos
Here we go again! 🤪
- 4x Glueberry OG fems (originally by Dutch Passion)
- 1x Strawberry Cough (originally by Dutch Passion) - first run of a bag of seeds I got from a guy. Unsure if reg/fem.
- 1x Bagseed from a mail order site (I'm referring to it as Macky OG - no idea what it actually is though)
- 1x Jack Herer Clone (from the Seedsman Jack grow off - was keeping her as a mom but with the hermi issue, I'm just gonna flower her instead)
- I also have 1x fem Blue Dynamite (originally by Next Generation Seeds) that I may try to stick in there somehow as well. We'll see.
Size of Grow Area and number of plants:
1.2m x 0.6m x 1.5m (4' x 2' x 5') Vivosun tent with 7-8 plants
Starting/seedlings: 4 x 36" SunBlaster T5 HO 6400K fluorescent tubes in rack- I have these attached to a shelving unit and/or a Mars II 900 at about 24" (60cm) above the plants, veg mode only.
Veg/flower: 1x MarsHydro Reflector 144 LED (~430W actual draw)
Exhaust: 1x Vivosun 195 CFM inline fan/Vivosun Carbon filter.
6L (1.5 gallon) round black plastic pots. Going for smaller plants this run. Except the Jack, which is in a 3gal (12L pot)
The supersoil has all the food built in so besides a weekly shot of liquid kelp, nothing additional. Actually, I suppose I use pH down to bring my irrigation water down to a decent level, so there's that. And maybe a shot of molasses every few weeks if I remember. But nothing else.
- pH/EC pens - just some basic $20-$30 Amazon ones. Our water here is quite alkaline (basic), with a pH out of the tap of about 8.1. I have to treat my water with pH Down.
- Small pump/air-stone - Used to oxygenate/equilibrate my irrigation water prior to adjusting with pH Down.
- 6" Clip on fan/12" oscillating tower fan - blows the air around and keep everything fresh
- Watering cans
- mp3 player/speaker
Plan for the grow:
Well, the plan was to grow them out for about 4 weeks, then flip when they're still small to get plants around 12-14" tall. But I started them in some plain potting soil, and they had some issues that set them back about a week. I am sticking to the same general idea though - just waiting until they get a bit bigger to flip. No training, no topping, no nothing. Just au natural.
Some quick pics to see what's been up:
March 13 (Day 13) - Plants looking pretty shitty. I started then in some plain old potting soil b/c my super soil wasn't quite finished cooking yet but, yeah. Not really doing much growing at this point... mostly just slowly wilting and dying, lol.
March 17 (Day 17) - before and after transplant photos. You can really see how shitty they were looking there, ahaha.
March 21 (Day 21) - The little ladies are starting to perk up now they are in the warm, nurturing embrace of some high quality supersoil.
March 24 (Day 24) - A wonderful green has returned to the leaves, growth has restarted and is moving quite quickly now, and they just look a million times better. Pretty neat to watch their recovery. Looking like they are back on track now with noticeable new growth every day. Probably keep them up here for another 5-7 days, then down to the tent they will go.
Youre going be busy in july, Good Luck on your grows, ill be watching these from the road
Looking much happier since the transplant mate! Good luck with the grow! Making the most of lock down lol
Lol yeah, I am trying to get a harvest monthly or every 1.5 months at least so no more of this rationing bullshit. I guess I could try smoking less but, nahhhhhh.
March 27 (Day 28) - Everything is settled and growing nicely now. They are definitely a bit smaller than they should be at this point but, I'll just veg em a week longer than I had originally planned, and then hit em with 12/12. The Strawberry Cough in the back middle is actually 5 days younger, but is the same size as the rest. Looking good though. Still amazed at their recovery...
Picking up nicely man, once they are settled they'll be flying.
April 7 (Overall: Day 39, Flowering: Day 0) - So far so good. I topped all but the Strawberry Cough about a week ago now, and all have recovered nicely. The Macky OG and Blue Dynamite are the smallest out of the bunch but, I'm sure they'll finish nicely, assuming they are ladies. The Glueberries are really givin' er tho - very branchy and really big leaves. Should be a good time once the stretch kicks in. The S. Cough is a beauty little plant too - perfect symmetry so far. Can't wait for that one. And last but not least, the Jack Clone is in there as well, and is looking excellent. Lots of bud sites so, let's hope any hermis that do want to show up wait until much later..
So I was poking around in the tent this morning, and I am 85% sure I have discovered a couple of pre-balls on my Strawberry Cough. Go figure, as this plant is the nicest looking of them all. I'll give it a couple more days but, yeah. Disappointing but, these seeds came from a bag as well so I wasn't sure how they would go anyways. Now I know! Oh the joys of regular beans... 😑
April 14 (Day 46, Flowering: Day 7) - So I've decided to make some changes to the original plan.. these plants will be in the 4x4 under the HPS/LEDs for now, and when it warms up I will swap in the Mars II 1600 for the HPS to manage the heat. They're all growing way bigger than I wanted them to, go figure. These Glueberries especially. Frickin weeds they are.
The Macky OG ended up being a man. So like yesterday, he is now dead and gone. All the others are definitely women though, which is most excellent. Now we wait!
Gave em all a shot of kelp on Monday, so that will happen weekly from now on until 2 weeks prior to harvest. Also gave them some fish hydrolysate with the kelp to boost the microbes.. but god does it smell like shiiiit. I usually only use it once or twice during the grow, if at all. 🤮
And since the Seedsman diary is done, I'll post the updates from the Jack Clone and the Purple Gods in this diary until they're complete. Not much longer, at least on the Purple Gods (maybe 3ish more weeks? Overall: Day 66, Flower, Day 42). The Jack Clone is coming along nicely (just under 3 weeks in flower now) so, she's got another 6 weeks or so to go as well.
April 16 (Day 48, Flowering: Day 9) - Well I've had to switch to the Mars II 1600 sooner than later as the bulb in the HPS has burnt out. If you look at the pics from the last entry, you can see how white the light was getting already - should be yellow, not good. It was totally bitched today so, lucky all it did was burn out and not up. Not that the ladies are complaining.. 🙂
You can see Ms. Jack Clone in the back middle there - this will be interesting to compare the results flowered under the HPS vs under the LED. It's the same plant in the same soil under the same conditions so, pretty good experiment if you ask me. 🧐 🤓
April 20 (Day 52, Flowering: Day 13) - All is well in the tent. Apparently Glueberry OGs 1 and 3 decided to stretch WAY more than the others, so there might be some booster seats in the future for the others, as per usual. This Mars II 1600 is SUPER bright but the plants need to be directly underneath it as doesn't have the best overall coverage. Probably be perfect for a 3x3 but intensity dies off very quickly along the edges of the 4x4, hence my hanging of those extra LEDs. Either way tho, things are lookin' good.
The ladies got a shot of kelp + EPSI (local 'probiotic compost tea') and some molasses with their watering for the microbes to munch on. Yum.
Supper time in the Temple
- Looking really healthy.
They did stretch eh?! Wow lol
April 23 (Day 55, Flowering: Day 16) - Little bit of a re-arrangement in the tent today. I've moved the stretchy Glueberries into the middle for better light coverage, and then but some bins underneath the other 4 smaller plants to prop them up to get an nice even canopy. I think it worked out well! Still can't believe how much these ladies grew compared to their sisters. Pots are way too small now. Such is the way of the seed I guess... I think they are pretty much done with the stretch now tho by the looks of the bud development. Should be pretty fruity in there in a few weeks.. 🙂
The Temple, re-arranged
