This will be my third grow. I won these seeds here on Percy's from Phoenix Cannabis Seeds. I'm hoping to learn from my past mistakes.
White widow should be an easy one to grow. Good luck with this one
I soaked the seeds in water for 12 hours and then put them in Jiffy Pots yesterday. Now they're sitting on top of my deep freeze (the top is warm to the touch) under a dome under a box. Here's hoping I see some green soon.
Lucky
Progress!
Hmm. Not very green, and something fuzzy and white on one of the stems.
Looking better.
IV got 5 packs on 10 of phoenix seeds and struggle popping any so hats of so far 👍👍
They're coming along. I decided not to mess with the plug to get the one plant rooted deeper because I'm worried about killing it. I had a similar issue with a seedling last grow, and ended up using a wooden skewer as a stake to get the stem to straighten out once the plant got a bit bigger.
It has been a few weeks since my last post. I put the Jiffy Pods into small mesh grow bags around ten days ago. I tied the stems to wood skewers to straighten them out. I've got some discoloration on the leaves--not sure why. Now I am waiting for the roots to protrude from the grow bags so I can move up to the next size.
I started with the nutrients when I put the jiffy pots in the grow bags full of coco/perlite/worm castings. 1ml each of CalMag, Advanced Nutrients Grow A and Grow B. I'll bump that up when I run out of this batch of nutrient solution.
I've moved the plants to larger mesh grow bags and slightly increased the input EC to 0.8. The growth rate jumped in the bigger grow bags. Soon, I will be topping the plants.
I also ordered the equipment for an automatic watering system, which I will use once I get the plants in their final container.
I think I'm on the verge of topping time. I waited too long last time, which I think contributed to my too-deep canopy in my last grow.
I discovered a spot of brown on one of the plants. Looks like a calcium deficiency to me. If anyone has other ideas, I would appreciate their insight. It may be the result of the recent exposure to new, unbuffered (by me at least) coco.
I also did my first runoff EC tests, and despite the plants being the same age and strain and receiving the same nutrient mix (.9 EC in, 1:1:1 Coco Grow A, Coco Grow B, CalMag), the runoff was quite different. 1.9 for one. 1.4 for the other.
Is the brown spot just on one leaf, they can get brown spots if there's been water on the leaves when the lights on, it acts sort of like a magnifying glass in the sun and can burn the leaf.
Iv seen it happening to the fan leafs sometimes if they've been lying on damp soil too.
I went away for a few days, and my plants got quite a bit bigger while I was gone! They also appear to be two different strains, which is strange since they came out of the same packet of seeds. Here they are just before I topped them.
And here they are after I topped them this morning. The roots are starting to come out of the bottom of the mesh grow bags. I'll give them two or three days to recover, and then move them into their final pots, 3 gallon (12 l) fabric pots.
