White Widow x2 Photoperiod
DIY.Rik growing x2 WW in coco.
<a href=" removed link "> removed link
Medium:
Coco is a pre blended mix of 70% Coco 30% Pearlite. This already contains a blend called charge, an insect frass NPK 2-2-2
<a href=" removed link "> removed link
Size of Grow Area and number of plants:
0.6 x 0.6 x 1.8 M This is a cheap brand tent, Black Orchid, the only I could find to fit into the space at the time.
Lighting:
The first half (Veg) I used my old light Mars Eco 300 which seems to be now end of line and replaced by my new light. The link for you tube video is below:
<a href=" removed link "> removed link
Now at 12/12 after stepping down from 18/6 I am using the Mars TS 600W

The link above is for the ebay shop I purchased from.
Extraction:
My extraction is the system air 4" Diameter purchased from Growell online.
<a href=" removed link "> removed link
I do not have any in take fan as its so small. The fan is well over powered for the tent, I remember doing a calculation when buying it.
I am waiting to update to a auto adjust fan like the AC Infinity Cloudline T4. This is due to me being in the shed so keeping temps and humidity levels correct al the time is hard.
Pot Sizes:
Root Nurse Fabric Pot Black
I started with a very small 3" square pot to start, then blend of amendments with my coco to go into 2-3L plastic pots which I up-cycled from other previous pot plants.
After they out grew I re-blended more soil (I will provide this mix in a later post, with help from Temple Grower, Thanks) and placed them into 8L fabric pots.
After about 3 weeks or so (under the old mars 300) they become root bound as they had stunted growth and they started struggling for nutrition. So they are now in 12L pots and flipped to 12 removed link
This was all after realising after 2-3 weeks into veg a had my light timer perm on and not switched to the timed setting. They seemed ok. I just took it back to 18/6 and then have been slowly stepping down to 12/12, whicch takes me to the here and now.
The Nutrient regime and info to be continued.......
I wish it would ask me for confirmation before moving links lol I can them for you mate. Just link them below
Must ten posts until you can post a link.
Nutrients:
All these nutrients i stick to what it says on the label for dosage. I find a little more doesn't tend to hurt.
All Eco Thrive Products:
Charge (previously mentioned) Insect Frass
This provides a good all round nutrition as well as a good bunch of microbes. Helps defence against pests and it can be used as an additive for an aerated compost tea.
I will use extra of this when re-potting as it is already in the coco mix. Then top dress later in flower, usually all together every 2-3 weeks.
I only top dress when in flower. In veg I tend to re pot. which gives me a chance to get some mycorrhizae fungi on the roots to establish a good root to microbe relationship.
Life Cycle
This has a mixture that supports the microbial activity in the soil/media:
Eco-Life contains: Ecothrive Charge (mealworm castings), Neem Cake, Kelp (Seaweed) meal, Crustacean meal, Basalt Rock Dust, Gypsum, Humic and Fulvic Acids (Nutrimate).
This I add when pre-blending coco and top dressing when in flower cycle.
Ecothrive Neutralise:
This is used to diminish any Chlorine and Chloramine in water.
I add this the day before ideally and let the water settle.
Biosys:
This is not a compost tea but a microbe tea. I add this after transplanting and every time I top dress. Or when the plants look stressed.
Generally I will add Neutralise 1st, wait a day, PH to 6.0-6.8 then add half a tea spoon of un-sulphured black strap molasses (to 2L of water):
Sunita Organic Lemon Juice:
This is used to bring my water to the correct PH level. This has no preservatives so it doesn't kill any beneficial microbes.
I still believe in organics when not in soil and using coco the PH is still important as we are working harder to keep the microbes there than when in soil.
Plagron Mega Worm Castings:
This is the only reliable supply i've found as of now
Great White:
Nemasys Nematodes:
These are a bit harder to get hold of. I still don't completely understand how they work exactly. But I tend to like using in case I have any nasty bugs which have entered my coco.
Blood and Bone Meal:
No particular brand. Just whatever is organic and easy accessed
Kelp Powder:
I thought this may be better as its organic, good for human consumption and as it's a powder then it will be more available for use to the microbes and roots in my coco
When pre-blending my coco I have come up with a mix which is working well so far produced good green leaves.
It calculates a little high for (N) and (P) values but I haven't seen any problems yet. Although low in Potassium (K) I have seemed to add this when it shows signs later on, as I have in my last grow (undocumented).
I am waiting for some organic kelp powder to come as kelp meal seems hard to get hold of. This contains many microbes and beneficial elements which are not vital for plant growth but will give optimum growth (readings from Jeff Lowenfells books). It contains growth hormones and practically all the micro nutrients needed for plants over 60 seperate elements!
This kelp is provided in the life cycle mix. But I want to add this when re potting pre-flower flip 12/12 as it will boost the extra potassium (K) needed in flower. Although molasses also has a high potassium (K) content, I will use this later in flower again on its own to see if it helps with resin production and terps etc....
Which brings me onto my mix:
Veg:
All added as the label says unless stated
- Charge added (a little extra seems ok)
- Life Cycle
- Mega worm castings
- Blood Meal (This tends to be half as much Bone Meal I add)
- Bone Meal
- Great White (on roots when re-potting)
- Namasys Nematodes (Once in Veg and once in Flower if i can)
Flower:
The same as above apart from I will be using a kelp powder too.
Also I didn't add my filter, which needs replacing this year, RAM AIR which was calculated as being fine for the area i'm working in. I've hardly ever had any smell problems.
Other equipment and pland for grow to be continued........
MAte, this is a diary!!! Im loving it, keep the info coming man i got a front row seat
This is awesome man... reading through your setup/gear/methods, I think we will be very good friends.. 😉
Nematodes FTW!
And welcome.
Nice one Temple Grower 🙂 Happy to be here and making some good friends already.
It's an honour to hear that. Now i've got the bug for growing no one is stopping me! lol
Only problem i've had is yield really, so i'm hoping the new light will help.
Thanks for the welcome.
Other Equipment:
I use a very cheap PH pen of which I back up with either test strips to double check or check the pen against some test water.
I always try to achieve watering at around 6.2 which seems to work well. i have tried at the higher end of 6.8 but once it goes higher the plants seem to get stunted and slow down.
I use 2 Ram Air fans. One pointing down and over the light and one over the plants. This seems to eliminate heat spots. Which brings me onto my laser temperature gun.
The next thing to do is update to the AC Infinity as previously mentioned.
The one I have is more than strong enough, works well:
I have had problems trying to get the environment right for drying in my tent. I usually use the same one as I grow in. I have very limited space which is challenging.
I also place a few bowls of water to increase the humidity through Veg. I think the evaporation coming up over the canopy helps with the plants intake of water too.
I am not tending to bother with too much training. I try and keep it simple. I did top the shoots on these once to try keep them down and more bushy due to limited space, other that that I will strip any dead or new growth near the medium. Anything that can cause mould or disease.
The plan I have I think is self descriptive in my journal and I have started part the way through. So hope I have covered everything!
from here its just watering plain water. 3 week microbe teas/molasses after top dressing and adding any faster acting amendments if and when I come into problems.
I'm hoping I can get you guys to help me with yield as I have struggled to get hem to pack on weight before.
Happy Growing.
Hi diy. Rik welcome to the community man , awesome place to be 😎good luck with your grow, looking forward to it 😀think I am going to learn a trick or two from u 👍
Great strain! What detail!
Thanks Ned.
Looking good
Just wanted to give everyone an update on how I water.
Something just come to mind while I was out gardening, planting some cayenne pepper seedlings and I never mentioned my specific watering cycle.
I don't tend to get any run off. Or I am washing away all my amendments!
I tend to give my 12L pots right now, 1L each 1 day and then 0.5L the next, or there abouts.
Enough water to keep the microbes going but not too much to get a moss layer on top.
Go for it Macky, would be largely appreciatedactually yeah and thanks.
I'm getting used to editing the videos but I'll get there.
Feels weird though watching back on yourself lol
Ooo a coco grow with organic inputs?!?! You've peaked my interest! Excited to watch this diary 🙌😊🌱
