I've noticed a progressive problem with my cannabis leaves on one plants turning rust brown.
My bottom/new and older leaves also look unhealthy and almost wilted and are dry like they're dead.
I was just solving the problems by trimming them before but on checking her again it's not looking good.
I'll be adding some photos once my lights go back on.
Morning, I’m not a coco grower, but I will ask some questions I think others will ask, so you are prepared—
First, pics will help.
Second, are you checking EC of your feed and run-off ? This will tell you (and others) if your plant is up taking nutz, or lock-out.
Pictures are definitely needed but if you’re not checking EC and growing in coco, you’re probably out of balance. What and how much are you feeding her? Using your EC meter what is the TDC concentration (that’s EC reading) of the input feed solution and what is the EC of the runoff leaving the pots (output)? What week is she in? This information plus the pictures will get us the information to help you out.
At 2 weeks into veg your plants aren’t going to need as much as you are offering to them. At this point you should be using 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended dose of nutrients listed in the instructions, I opt for closer to the 1/4 to start with. It might sound crazy but your plants will do better with less. Start checking the EC too, it is your guide to what your plant needs for highest performance.

Get the pictures up as soon as you can and be prepared to do a full flush on the plants. The easiest and most reliable way to fix coco is to do a full flush and re-feed with the proper ratios. At 2 weeks into veg you only need to be watering once daily unless there’s some outlying reason I don’t know about. Young plants font require very much.
Idk if that's all the photos but lmk what you think.
I may be completely wrong as I'm not a pro and only going of previous experience,I had one grow I over watered and the leaves canoed(curled under) and then when the heat hit those leaves they browned and died of,I'm only going with over watering as your leaves look droopy similar to what mine did in the past,as I said I may be completely wrong and I'm sure one of the master Percy growers will be in touch but check how much your watering and mabey leave it a day or two see if your leaves use up any excess water and purk back up,if it's that she'll be fine in a couple days
Good luck with it all and keep it Poppin 😉
I'd agree with @firetop95 it does look like a watering problem. Over or under watering can look similar on a plant. From what you have said it sounds like over watering in your case.
Should be easy enough to fix, the plants look pretty healthy.
I've never grown in coco myself, so you'll have to wait for an experienced coco grower for more detailed help. Good luck with it. 👍
Hey mate, a few things could be happening here, one which is the most likely scenario seeing as it is the lower growth, are or were those bigger leaves touching the medium? And if so did they get wet when you fed the plant?
Looking at some pictures there it looks like the smaller single blade leaves are dying off which is normal as they are probably no longer getting enough light under that canopy to do anything anyway so the plant has decided to eat them, completely normal and no big deal.
Looking at the pot size and where you are at in veg you will be wanting to get the feed rates up a touch, with coco you want to be shooting for 5.8-6ph and roughly 15-20% runoff, ensuring you are supplementing calcium and magnesium with EVERY feed. Try for one decent soak at the same time every day and then look for the coco to start drying out just a touch at the top while the base of the pot is still moist. Ideally try lifting the pot immediately after the feed and take note of the weight, then come back roughly 12 hours later and check the weight again, if the plant feels at least half as heavy then feed again. I will normally feed twice daily to run off after about week 2-3 of veg.
Seconding that last paragraph make sure your environment is in check, if it is getting too cold in there the plant won't take up as much liquid and you will start seeing overwater issues as the roots are not getting enough oxygen, it is a bit of a delicate balance at this stage.
Good news is though that other than those few leaves the plants still look quite happy, I noticed you said you weren't checking EC yet, this is major factor in all hydro setups, with coco and hydro setups the medium is inert, meaning it has no nutrient value to give and you need to be supplying everything the plant needs from the word go, being coco is a high CEC medium it will also leech nutrient away from your plant to fill its own exchange sites leaving your plants with a lack of certain nutrients. This is why most if not all coco growers will supplement with a calmag solution to ensure the coco is buffered correctly and allowing free use of the nutrients for the plants.
My advice would be to firstly give a decent flush, this will wash out any potential build-up and rebuffer the coco, you want to use plain ph balanced water with only calmag added and i usually shoot for about 3-4 times the pots volume in flush solution. Then leave it sit until the next feed and feed at a lower rate than you were before, I see @monkeydo has recommended 1/4 of the feed schedule by canna, this should land your ec at 1.0-1.1ec with the calmag added. At this stage in the plants life that is more than enough to keep it happy.
Hope all that made sense, if you get stuck or I have explained something in an overly convoluted fashion(I confuse myself too at times don't feel bad calling me on it if I have made it sound harder than it is 🤣) just let me know what part that was and I can try explain it better Good luck!
Hi mate
I think your plants look ok. I would follow bubblhocks advice regards water and feeding
Dont be concerned to much about the lower leafs as it look to me as it just the old growth dieing back your new growth looks fine.
Make sure your not over watering, your coco needs to be moist not wet.
Best wishes doing good and in a few weeks ur going have some lovely bud
Love see some pics as grow progresses and definitely like see ur buds
