I have just noticed brown spots on a few leaves of my auto that is growing in soil, it is currently around week 3 veg, I’ve bought some ionic cal mag pro, can anybody guide me as to how much I should add per litre of water please? I have read what it says on the bottle and looks like it’s aimed at DWC more than soil. Thanks 😊

@spieg-viegal Can we get some pics of the plant and the food mate? Usually we recommend starting at 1/4 of the dosage the plant recommends Smile But lets make sure its cal/mag issues before feeding it cal/mag. Its always good to get the right diagnosis before adding feed, you don't want to give it the wrong thing and over feed it something it doesn't need.

@spieg-viegal hmmmm, looking at this I would say maybe you're over watering a little and the magnesium is being washed out of the medium. I would recommend an folia feed of epsom salts really. Just mix up 1 litre of water, with 1/3 teaspoon of epsom salts, and spray the leaves on both sides. This will give he plant the magnesium it needs without having to change the EC of the root zone Smile Try this out and it should look much better in a couple of days Smile

Yes mate, its all the same. As long as it is unscented. you want 100% magnesium sulphate Smile You can get it from most chemist and health stores.

@macky  just called my local in excess store.. they have 1kg left in stock only £3.50! Heading over there right now, you mentioned the watering, currently I’m watering around 1 litre every 24 hours, that’s in a 15 litre fabric pot. Maybe I’ll reduce the amount but keep the same frequency?

@spieg-viegal It looks like you're in soil right? If so, the plants would prefer a wet and dry cycle. Don't let the soil dry out completely, but you should give a day or two in-between waterings to allow the soil to dry out a little to allow more air to get to the root zone and keep the bacteria happy Smile Water well, then leave it until the pots feel a bit light, then water again. It would be 2-3 days between waterings on average.

If you're going  to hold off on cal-mag(calcium/magneseum), epsom salts are magnesium sulfate. Just saying.
