One of my Runtz Stoned Cowboy Seedlings has yellowing leaves. The leaves are also starting to shrivel in the middle. It was yellow yesterday, bit looks worse today. I did put about 4 small eyedroppers of water with veg nutrients on her yesterday. I then top dressed some Fox Farms Happy Frog soil.

Any ideas on what I have going on and what to do about it?

I’ve not had that in cannabis but sometimes with sunflowers. In those cases my seedlings hit a concentrated spot in the soil and rebelled. That’s all I have to offer.

some soils tend to be a little hot for seedlings and they can react that way until they get used to it. many of my seedlings look similar to this the leaves tend to look a lil dark and the new growth tends to look lighter.   i run fox farms soil which can be a lil hot. give them some time to adapt to the soil.  Many growers will use a handful of seedling friendly soil placed in the pot where the seedling will be placed to allow them to adjust easier to the soil.

I planted the seedlings in a Jiffy Puck and put them Promix soil. My last grow, I planted directly into Fox Farms Happy Frog with no issues. Of course they were different genetics as well. I'll keep watching them. Thank you.

@Bangswitch2A, I'm going to go in the opposite direction of others here and suggest that you may have 1 or 2 other things going on. This looks to me like classic Nitrogen deficiency, as if the seedlings were not given nutrition soon enough after getting their true leaves. That is a classic N deficiency sign when there is yellowing at the petiole.  It usually happens on lower leaves on more mature plants since N is a mobile nutrient, but this is a seedling.  However, the same symptom can come from too much watering which can lock-out nitrogen due to lack of O2, causing the same effect for the plant.  So, the questions become how has your watering been and what nutrition have they had access to before you top-dressed?  Answers to those will tell likely tell you what's happened. Hope that helps. Bon chance, mate!

Oh -- I forgot to mention that excessive water in soil can also prevent uptake of Ca, too, even if it is present in the soil.

@im_sparky this jiffy pucks stay pretty moist for a long time. I have not given nutrients yet. I get a little confused on when to start nutrients. I've read don't give nutrients the first two weeks. Then I've read give nutes once the true leaves form. So I'm still trying to figure that out.

@bangswitch2a most seeds only have enough energy to last a few days (as a general rule), and the seeds contain only the cotyledons. As a result, they need energy from their roots to build the true leaves.  I bet this is where your girls started to run out of nutrients.  I also am guessing, as long as they have not been too wet, your light feeding with show improvement after about 72 hours or so as the roots take up N and Ca, and I bet your leaves green-up. Fingers crossed for you growmie. I bet they'll be fine.

I transplanted my sickly Runtz Stoned Cowboy 2 days ago. Now she's looking worse. Any suggestions as to what I can do to help her?

This morning I gave her some water with veg nutrients to give her a boost. Hopefully it helps.
