I am running one plant on 10 gallon res. during the week the water lvl drops a little the PPM and Ph stay the same, maybe a small rise in ph. Should top off with plain water? if I do the ppm will go down , is that a bad thing?
@condo Don't have much to go on here, but a 10 gal rez means your in hydro??? Me too. Get 5 gal clean bucket, mix 4 gals (exactly) in the 5 gal bucket, of your nutz and add as needed. Get a second 5 gal bucket and fill it with water, then correct the PH. You now have both that you can use as needed. keep your PPM - EC low, and give it 24 hrs after making adjustments. Keep monitoring.
Just remember, Shoot low their riding Shetland ponies.
yes I am in hydro I have a 5 gallon pot:with a 10 gallon tote for res outside the tent it has a Ice probe to keep res temps between 66 -70. I like your idea .Let see if I got this right, after I fill res. keep 4 gallons Nuked water and. 4 gallons ph ed water. Then I can keep my ppm in range with that?
PS are ph drops after lights on a issue?

@condo Yes the two buckets will be your top off water. If your changing nutz sometimes they don't like what you did, and you need a quick fix, NOW. So always have extra water, PH'ed and ready. Then you can do with it as you wish. Be aware of water temps when adding or changing, mine is coming out of R.O at 60 degrees, way to cold. let it get to system temp.
PH drops sounds like a bacterial boom, possible. Do you have an inline Y filter? I have mine right before the main pump to keep it clear and to monitor my system. It's like look in a dirty diaper, You can see what going on in your system. I check mine daily, when thing are great the filter is clear, When the filter starts getting shit in it or it can Clog, you can see the problem in the filter sometimes before you see it in the water.
Are you running sterile or beneficial bacteria, Hydroguard.

How long have you been using RO water? ever have any issues? I tried on one grow using ro water with coco media and the entire grow was a night mare , now im using zero water and clay pellets .
@condo Yes I use RO, EC .02, Haven't had a problem yet that I can contribute to the RO, lot of problems but I think my RO is ok for now. fingers crossed. I have well water with a PPM 380, and a water softer because the ro filter can clean salted water better than heavy mineral. Then I just set the softer to minimal salt input Ro just doesn't have anything in it which is great but it's like coco in that aspect. I haven't done Coco, yet. Check out Current Culture's feeding schedule as far as EC and PPM and PH recommendation for their stuff, it's a good reference. Their stuff is all Sterile, their UC Roots, so you can't use the if you use Hydroguard. Hydroguard will be your best bet if your not chilled and not quite 100% dailed in. Just use as directed, works great once it's established.
@woodi2 OK question on the water. I live in south and the humidity is always 70%+. I run a dehumidifier nearly 24/7, an can bearly keep my flower tent below 60 % humidity but plants oddly enough, don't seem to mind. Anyways , I keep the demuidifer. spotlessly clean, Can I use the water I get from the dehumidifier after I run it trough a Zero water filter, to feed? Right now I run my tap water <219> ppm trough Zero water filter and it comes out 000 the dehumidifier water starts out at <006>ppm. I could save a fortune in water filters. they are like. 15 bucks a pop what do ya think

@condo Man I hear Ya! Humidity sucks. Constant air movement, not huge amounts just good movement, and you can grow just fine. I've got the same thing , I'm in the mid-west time zone around KC , so above you a bit. But humidity out the ass! Summer time indoor grows aren't worth the battle with the heat and humidity. Last summer I had two dehus running 24/7, had to vent them outside. That's one very important point that I have found... Vent all exhaust fans and such, completely out of your building, not just into the attic but completely outside. Anyway, run off water, Wish you could use the run off, but No. I thought the same thing when I tested it! Then read about some chemical metal exchange, doesn't show up on EC or PPM but is toxic. I'm not a chemist yet. I bought two RO filter (long story) but the one with the coco filter was 175$. Hydrologic 150 gpd. I couldn't do with out it. The coco filter works for me, .02 ec, the carbon is for heavy metals, I had one but it clogs just as good as a coco one does. How many gallons is your system. Mine is small, only 25 gal, 3 site.
hey I just. got my current culture notes in . AND I got a RO water system , can I use CC. notes with ro water. cause my tap water. is like. 300 ppm
@condo, Hey man. All nutrients numbers or spec are meant to be obtained from using Pure water, distilled, RO, etc., or any water that has basically no or very low PPM/EC. If the water has an existing PPM like your tap water does then that will increase your final nutrients level. And 300 is too high and you don't know what's in it unless you've had it tested. Any hydro nutrients can be used with RO. As far as I know. Definitely CC. If you use their feeding chart it's all there just follow the recipe. Use a syringe (feed store) no needle, to measure, CC uses very small amounts 2-4ml. Use their calculator. good luck, all your lacking is finishing.
