Hey everyone! I've got some recent changes to my fully outdoor grow that are concerning me. I am using organic soil in fabric pots that have been outdoors for 2 weeks now. Ill include a photo of the soil below. I live in a forest so I deal with a lot of shade from the trees but the plants still get plenty of light. I have noticed a few small insects but nothing alarming. I leave 2-3 days between watering currently to allow the soil to dry.

My first concern is probably nothing to worry about. I've got 3 plants that have some crinkled leaves, dark green in color, but otherwise look healthy. Any idea's?

Second concern is a few dots I've found on maybe 6 leaves across 3 plants. they very in frequency, this photo showing the most dots on one leaf.

 Lastly I found some strange uneven spots slightly clear but with almost an oil sheen to them on 1 leaf. I remember hearing something in the podcast about a problem that looked like someone spit on the leaf and it could be that? What do you think?

 Thanks for all the help! I can't wait to update my grow diary, the plants have really taken off and as this is my first grow I am very excited! I really appreciate all that you guy's have done for me.

@shredmonkey hey man! I used some neem oil spray on my plants for prevention and get some companions plants if your able to in the garden. Its likely to be some sort of bugs but as your first grow your gonna be nervous as fuck....trust me haha! They are outside in the big world with wind and hail and rain pelting them and birds and bugs shitting on them and fuckin GOATS can even eat them.....but they will LIVE! Lol. Your job is to give them the best shot by feeding them and keeping an eye on them! Check out a neem oil spray the....the recipe is here at Percys!

@colacody I will defiantly try this before anything else, I should also look into the companion plants. Great advice, thank you! It is defiantly nerve racking having them out in the forest while they are so small but I keep reminding myself that its natural!

@shredmonkey hi mate

1. I think the funky leaves like that are temporary and will grow out of it (possibly genetical)

2. As said above ... thrips or mites possible.. if still all on one leaf I’d be removing that leaf very carefully (bag underneath ) so not to allow further spread atm

3.not sure really ... passing slug or insect maybe ? Keep an eye on it

good luck bro

love to see plants growing outside for a change lol

👍

@chillbert Thanks for the advice! I've seen small patches on a few. I'm watching a bit closer now and if it spreads I will give this a shot. I will be updating my diary soon with lots of photos of the outdoor grow!

Looks like some bug damage mate, by that white spit looking patch, I would say it is likely to be thrips:
