Afternoon everyone. So got a question for the forum. Below is a picture of my 2 plants im currentley growing. On the left we have the Black Cherry Punch and on the right the LA Peyote Kush.

Both are in 20L pots and both were give 2L water at the same time 48 hours ago however as you can see the LAPK looks very sad compared to the BCP.

LAPK

BCP

Last night before lights out the LAPK was perked up same as the BCP.

Do you just think the LAPK is a thirsty little bitch or might it be something else? Im thinking at that moment to maybe give her 2.5L next time and see how she does but thought id stick a thread up incase anyone spots anything else.

Just coming off a run of a few kinds of Kush and this one is preforming as expected. Last kush was very sensitive to root stress so gently slip her out of her pot and take a look. She is either root bound or has a weak rhizosphere, one peek at the roots and you will know but there are two different remedies depending on the condition. Several growers including myself have seen these beans turn into picky girls but I believe they will be good in the end.

@monkeydo OK glad I asked now. So either way do you think a transplant is necessary on her? And in terms of getting her out, do you just kind of push the sides of the pot in and lift her out by the main stem?

I would alway pot up, a week before flower(12/12)

Never lift the plant out by the stem, as you can damage the plant.

Soak the pot 12 hours before potting up, if you damage a stem its more likely to recover, I would double check for any ties

Get the larger pot ready and  fill it half way up drop the smaller pot in the middle and fill the sides with soil and pat it down ( remove the pot)  so you can drop the plant straight in the hole.

Without messing with the roots.

try putting your hand on the pot/plant a few times till you feel comfortable your not putting pressure on the shoots but your fingers are inbetween the shoots and giving the plant roots good support, slide your other hand underneath the pot and turn it upside down and tap/sliding the pot off

As you turn the plant back up the right way drop it in the hole.

The soil should still be damp so you don't need to water for a day or two.

@jacks_farm Thanks Jack. Im off work today luckily so will take a trip to my local hydroponic store to get a bigger pot. I watered her yesterday so its been about 24 hours but soil is still damp so hopefully should be ok.

I'll update later on.

Update

So ive been and bought bigger pots, could only get 30L so thats what she'll be going into, just hope I dont run out of space in the tent lol. I also got some Great White rooting powder whilst I ws there just to help her settle into her new shoes.

So its been about 30 hours since I last watered and shes started to dry out a bit, is damp at the bottom but dry on the surface so with that in mind i'll give her some water tonight before I gto bed, im working from home tomorrow so during lunch, i'll get her out of her old pot and transfer her into her new one.

@redeyejedi

Your plants look amazing but I think we can improve the results with thick colas.

Use some 3ft lengths of bamboo around the inside edge of the pots, one for every main shoot, as the plant stretches over the next 3 weeks keep tieing the shoots to the bamboo

Really you want 8 main shoots on each plant and lose the rest ( good time to take clones ) each shoot could grow 2-3 foot and 3" thick but every shoot need lots of space, light and room to achieve this.

With the current canopy the roots will feed loads of smaller shoots and the light will not penatrate the canopy very well, but you will still pull a good harvest. All the shoots will grow smaller but you could have double the amount.

So its done. I'll do a full update in the diary but all went smoothly so happy days. Roots looked fine and very healthy infact. I was going to grab a photo but once I had her out her pot, realised my phone was in the other room, anyway I digress. Was possibly root bound, roots had certainly reached the bottom but couldn't see anything unusual there.

On another note, I completely forgot to put the Great White in there before dropping her in lol. Weren't even stoned either!! But anyways after a few hours she has already perked up and is looking very happy.

Thanks Monkey, Jack and Chance for the great advice. Appreciate it as always Thumbs Up
