My plant, Autoflowering seeds in a 60x60x120 Mars Hydro grow tent, growing in compost / vermiculite mix, under LED lights on 18 light / 6 dark with Rhino filtration, Air taken from room & vented into room

They have gone from vegging well to browning, wilting and looking unwell in the space of a few days.  I had expected some signs of flowering around now?!

There has been no changes to the environment or the (very basic) Tomorite feeding - It's a first time grow and wanted to be as natural as possible.

Can anyone advise?

@wizwaz Looks like they are being fed a bit too much mate. Back of the feed completely for a few days....

They are going to be a bit cold too, around 26c is good for them. Do you see any flowers forming yet? Sometimes this is just the way it goes on the first grow, you're second will be much better, don't worry Smile

I think they probably have way too much nutrients.  Most around here who use the commercial feeds recommend to start off at 1/4 strength of the recommended amount and go slow.  I think you have been using the feed at almost 3/4 strength, and feeding every few days. I think the manufacture recommends feeding once per week, plus if they are in compost, that makes it even stronger.  If it were me, I would give them a good flush as soon as possible. I hope you get a harvest, but I would be popping more beans soon for insurance sake. Hope that helps, man.  Bon chance!

@wizwaz, Shit happens man, especially on your first grow without any help. It's like flying a plane without a lesson. You'll be ok but I don't know about your auto. Maybe? But if this one doesn't work out, we can help you get going again in the right direction. Definitely sounds like over feeding and maybe your light too close or too intense. This auto probably won't make it and if it did it wouldn't produce anything for the amount of work it would take to save her, if it's even possible.

Do you have anymore seeds to start? We can help you with soil and nutrients if you need recommendations. Hope this helps man. 👍

@woodi2 - Thanks, I'd be interested in some recommendations. I'd like to keep it soil based and fairly simple until I'm more experienced!

@wizwaz, which side of the Big Pond are you on? The UK and the States have some different products so your location, in General, is all we need. I don't do soil only hydro but there are many members here with lot of experience with soil and the proper nutrients.

You can also check out Percy's own library of information. Look at the top task bar and check-out some of the info that's just waiting to be read. Lots of good stuff.

But your getting the hang of it here, just keep posting questions. When someone can, we'll get to your questions. Don't worry man, you'll get the help to figure it out.     peace

Over feeding in soil is always a issue.  Look to invest in cannabis nutrition too as the tomato feeds are not that great for them imo and you will always have issues with it.  I use bio bizz organic feed. .  Something with A and B parts to it from most places are cheap enough.  Look at the nutrition and feeding in the grow section also.  Good luck.

I always aim for a good wet and dry cycle in soil, less is more, make sure your environment is on point.

@wizwaz day on day off is optimum, you don't want the soil overly wet try less volume and build up.

@wizwaz usually the weight of the pot is a good guide, and from what I’ve read around 10% pot size to water ie/ 10L pot= 1 L water, this is only general rule and will change depending on the species involved and the stage they are at.

Id roll with one of the cannabis aimed soil brands, Bio bizz, Plagron, Canna etc and they will each have a nutrient guide and schedule to go with the different mixes of soil.

Im well passed my first grow and still making plenty of mistakes, we all do. First run is extra hard as you feel the pressure to make it work after investing the money. You’ll get there man, don’t loose heart and stick with it. A diary here is a great idea and you’ll get help when you need it.

Good luck ☘️

I've fried a few plants like this in my early days, personally I'd start again, start a diary on here and the more experienced growers on here will coach you though it.

Took me a fair few grows to start to understand our favourite plant and I still only consider myself a fairly good grower even after many years.

I am in aus and dont use this fertiliser but a touch of research i found the NPK ratio is 4 - 4.5 - 8,  Whilst that amount of nitrogen is ok in veg moving into flower the plant wont want the heavy nitrogen and it will effect your plant negatively in the way of airy buds and nitro toxicity. Also i noticed you said 3ml per litre, that works out at 30ml per 10L of water, at that concentration at this stage of the grow cycle for an autoflower is way too much in my opinion. Soil holds nutrient and it will slowly build and release through the cycle which is why most soil growers will start with amended soil and topdress or liquid feed at intervals. Unfortunately i would recommend starting fresh, this time start at 1/8 strength and lower your feed frequency, it is more than acceptable to feed once a week and water in between especially if you have a good base soil to start with. As for recommendations on how to turn the plant around.... you could flush the medium with lots and lots of water and nurse her back to health but autoflowers dont get much recovery time if any so it may not be worth the effort or electricity cost to try save it.
