Hi Guys,

I noticed some yellowing on the lower fan leaves 4 days ago and now it is climbing up the plant and rust spots have started popping up.

I'm growing in 40L Living organic supersoil, in a fabric pot. I did 10 weeks of veg, long I know, but it was my first mainline and I wanted to give the plant plenty of recovery between toppings removed link

I flipped it just over 2 weeks ago. 1 week into flower I noticed burnt tips, which I thought was nutrient burn, so I just gave it water for 6 days. I then started to notice yellowing and gave it some Bio Deisel (2ml/L) and Aloevate (5ml/L) in 2 Litres of water, that was 4 days ago.

The yellowing and rust is still spreading.

This afternoon I bought some Green Bio Deisel (part A) and Diamond Bio Deisel (part B) after the guy at my local hydro shop said it is most likely nitrogen defiency. I gave her:

Green (3ml/l) and Diamond (3ml/l) and watered 1 Litre straight in and but 4L in my blumats resevoir.

I would love a second opinion, and third and fourth. Now that I've given her another feed I'm really hoping it's not nutrient lockout.

P.s I don't water to run off so haven't measured E removed link

It doesnt look like nitrogen def mate, I would say it looks more like a Potassium deficiency. Which would also fit with your stage of growth. For living soil, you do not want o use bottled nuits. A little is ok, but you seem to be using alot. I would cut back on all of that and just use some microbe tea and black strap molasses i think.

But it isnt nitrogen def mate, please dont take advice from that guy again lol

@macky Thanks, most of those products are microbial/Mycorrhizal additives or Microbe food. I've been using Aloevate (an aloevera product) all run, but have only done one feed of the bio deisel (Guano bloom enhancer). And, after that advice from the guy at the shop, one feed and foliar of Part A + B Nutrients. I have been told that they are all organic, if anyone knows any different please let me know, coz I'd hate to ruin my medicine with bung advice from my local.

I would say either underwatered/overwatered or your extraction isn't working too well...this can be caused by stale air in the growspace, I have the same issues in my veg tent but transferring to the flower tent they go away...veg tent is not extracted very well

@zn Thanks, it's definitely not underwatering. I'll turn my blumats off for a bit and let it dry out, see if that helps. I've got a 80cm x 60cm x 210cm space with a 6 inch infinty extraction fan and 2x6 inch oscillating fans to push the air around, so I really hope it's not air flow coz I can't fit any more fans in my room 🤣

I took some photos of the whole plant in better lighting if it helps the diagnosis. By the look of those droopy tips I'm leaning towards overwatering.

They do look a bit N deficient, maybe that 10 weeks was a little much although not needing as much N now that theyre in flower but yeah, overwatered would be a good call...difficult to lift pots to gauge I'm guessing, lol

My baby is still going down hill. I let the soil dry out for 4 days, until the top 2 inches were dry and the medium was pulling away from the side of the pot. Gave her 3L of Compost tea in 40L soil. I also did a 3L feed with the Sensi Bio Diesel range to address any possible deficiencies (I'm thinking I will cut the Sensi line of products from my schedule and focus on Compost Tea's and microbials like Macky suggested). I've disconnected my blumats so I've got more control over my watering practices and I'm thinking I might do water only for a week or so. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Looks similar to the issues I had recently , around the same time too. I put mine down to adding liquid fert at the wrong time and upset the micro life and ph of the soil. Have a look at my diary and see what you think.

Alls certainly not lost though, mine made it to the end and done pretty well. The Tea will definitely help. Could you do a mini flush and check the ph of the soil?

Are they drinking less than normal?

@rufio That's pretty much along the lines of where I'm at with my thinking now, upset the microbe balance and ph. Looking back at my diary I didn't have a lot of water only feeds in the period before it all started, and the "organic" bottle nute feed was around that time too.

I don't want to sound too simple but for a flush would you recommend just water only for a week? I'll do a ph test on the soil with some color strip's tonight and monitor it over the next week. And check out your diary.

I think they have been drinking a little less, it's hard to tell because my blumats have been a bit erratic. For my first indoor grow I should have kept it simple and hand watered, just to get a feel for it.

I've got to admit I went into full panic mode and forgot the simple stuff like checking the soil ph....I actually didn't sleep last night, thanks for giving me some hope and possibly a good night's sleep tonight.

NVM, look at that, a podcast episode on flushing, how convenient.

On another note, just wanted to say, if I'm having a real crap day at work, chuck on a podcast and that start theme song instantly lifts my mood, keep up the good work, love the banter

Hey guys,

I just wanted to shoot through an update. She's back on track, the buds are stacking nicely and the new growth looks healthy (week 5), starting to get some purples and blacks coming through on the leaves. The photos look a little yellower coz of the light.

Anyway thanks for all your help.
