Hello, all your amazing promises!
I'm new here and so far love the community. I've just had my first ever grow (Aussie outdoor organic soil) and partial harvest. My question is as follows...
What are the disadvantages of drying in a slightly warmer room/temp?
I managed to reduce RH to 55%-70% (from +90%) but wasn't able to reduce the temp. The average temp was 24-27oC.
I dried it for 6-7 days and have jar cured them ( 3/4 full with a hygrometer and a 58% bovida pack).
It is now day 3 of cure and my RH in each jar has been 50%-52%.
I store my jars in a wine fridge held at 18oC with no light (though I have the option for blue light if that helps...?)
Have I dried my bud too much before cure?
Is this a good problem to have?
And should I continue daily burping for the first 2 weeks is usually recommended?
Is there anything I can do or except for my next secondary harvest?
I'm looking forward to a discussion.

@stonewolf Welcome to Percys man Drying in warm temps speeds up the drying, and kills off certain terpenes. Its better to dry as cool as possible, 26-27 is a bit high but you can only work with what you got. Itll still be good shit
You don't need any light whilst it cures, no need for the blue light. and if you have hygrometers i the jars there is no need to burp the jars unless it goes over 58%. Anything below that you really want to lock in to keep the buds a little moist, if they are too dry they wont cure properly.

My last dried in 6-7 days at 60% humidity. Mine was only 65-70 F but they still dried a little fast. I've been trying to lengthen that but I'm afraid of mold. It's hard to risk a crop. Lol.
Welcome to Percy’s @stonewolf. As for your last question, there’s no need to burp a jar that’s below 58% humidity. The burping process is used to remove excess moisture. Your jars are already at or below the recommended storage humidity. You might want to gently move the buds every few days to make sure they are evenly dried. After they are in the jars and stable for a week or so you should be good.

Yeah I definitely feel you there @stonewolf I'm down in the centre of NSW and we get shocking dry heat up to 38°+ in a normal summer. But the ol La Nina has thrown mondo moisture down this way at the start of the year and I've been blessed with the average Rh of around 60-65% but still up in the high 20's.
I dried/cured my northern lights in these condition and lost out big. The buds dried in 8 days and were really yucky to the touch and felt dry and spikey 🤮.
With autumn settling in here now I'm in ideal conditions with around 65%rh and an average temp of 18° just in time to jar up these beautiful blue buds from my yard pimp👌

@improper_weed_viking agreed! And hoping my next/second harvest is in time for the cooler climate to roll around.
You've got some nice RH though. I wish we had 65%. Average fore is 80% 🥵 recently with 28oC days. Nothing compared to summer mind you. 😂

@stonewolf gotta love our Aussie heat lol I used to do the express run from Sydney to Darwin and we had to refuel at Cloncurry. I've never felt heat hotter than that place in my life and I've had to lay on the tar at 3ways in the NT in the late afternoon changing tires. Cloncurry gets that hot that at 8am on a summer morning when standing next to the tanks refueling and the engine fan kicks in you need to walk away because your toes are burning from the hot air being forced out of the engine. Imagine the nightmare controlling that environment

@improper_weed_viking I would dislike that comment to show my disgust for doing any of that 😂. But I feel your pain, if only we could grow in those climates and get enough water out there.... Image the solar power and bud production 🤤.
Gotta look at the bright side given our "dangerous" surroundings 😂
