Recipe for easy-to-make cannabis chocolate using whole flower.
You will need:
Slow cooker (or double boiler)
Grinder
Aluminum foil or silicone mould
Dark chocolate ~50-100g
Coconut oil 1/4 tsp / 1.25 ml
Flower 0.5-1g
*DOSING* To make semi-reliable doses, I like to fill the grinder by pinching off one-hit sized bits, counting up to the number of doses I want to get out of the amount of chocolate that I am using. Adjust chocolate:flower ratio up for weaker chocolate that you can eat more of; adjust down for more concentrated doses.
> Grind preferred mass of flower
> In a wide-mouth glass canning jar, combine: flower, chocolate, and coconut oil. Seal lid tightly
> Prepare mould: If using foil - set a rectangular object in the center of a piece of aluminum foil a little bigger than a smart phone; place a smaller rigid rectangular object in the center of the foil (another chocolate bar or the short side of a pasta box works well); fold foil up along each length, then fold around at each corner; remove object from foil mould
> Place in slow cooker with enough ROOM TEMPERATURE water in vessel to float the jar with 3-6 cm / ~ 1-2” of water below the jar.
> Run slow cooker at or below ~148*C/300*F until chocolate is melted (or a bit longer). I use a 7L ceramic slow-cooker and my max temp is 300*F, this process takes about two hours for me, but your settings and materials may vary. IF YOUR WATER SIMMERS/BOILS: be sure to keep the water level up by topping off with hot water from a kettle. Learn how hot your cooker gets, and how long it takes to get there, then use a decarboxylation chart (I have included a simple table below) to adjust your melting/decarb time and cooker settings accordingly. Play with times and temps to adjust the efficiency of your decarb process. Note: hotter is faster, but you will destroy more cannabinoids and terpenes.
> Carefully remove hot jar from slow cooker, open jar and stir chocolate well, then pour into mould
> Allow to set overnight
> Divide into even sized pieces to match your desired number of doses
Keeps well in a cool dry container for up to six months (or longer).

Run slow cooker on high (This should hit 145-150*C or ~300*F, take temp during a trial run first) until chocolate is melted, or ~ 2 hours
These temps don’t look right. Water boils at 212f so 300f would boil it dry very fast. When I decarb in a jar using a slow cooker I aim the temp at 190-195f.

The water will simmer at the edges of the slow-cooker, but won't boil dry in that time-frame if you use enough water (you can also top-off from a kettle halfway through).
That said, you can certainly do this at a lower temperature for a longer time. You would likely have a stronger end-product if you go lower removed link
@monkeydo, can I edit the initial post to offer the lower temp / longer time alternative as well?
dr.jb
@monkeydo, I should also note: I use a ~7L ceramic basin slow cooker, your dimensions and materials may result in different time x temp dynamics. Also, I start with room temperature water and my "high" setting tops out at 300*F, so it takes a bit of time to ramp up that high, thus it doesn't sit at that temp the whole time.

@dr-jitter-bug drop what you want edited here and I’ll edit the post or you can PM me the information and I can do it from there. Either way is fine

@dr-jitter-bug I moved your last post to the top and deleted it from the bottom for you.
