Suggestions Get all (or almost all) of your oil back after infusion.

A while back I posed a question about if anyone had a good way to maximize the return of oil after you infuse it with cannabis. There was no response so I set out to invent a way that works for me. Previously I would just put the used weed in a cloth bag and squeeze it as best as I could. It was marginal at best and extremely messy too. The answer was to figure out a cheap and easy press to squeeze the last bit of oil from the weed. My materials list was short and simple.

A large C-clamp, a tin can and a couple of aluminum discs cut to fit the can. I load the drained flower into the can and then put the aluminum discs on top like a piston. Next the clamp goes on between the bottom of the can and the aluminum pieces. Start tightening the clamp and the oil gets squeezed out.

I always knew I was throwing away lots of goodness, here’s what I collected in the measuring cup, over 2 ounces!

If I really tried hard I probably would get half that by squeezing by hand so BONUS OUNCE!!! Plus a lot less mess.. When it’s over the leftover cannabis is as hard as wood and would need to be taken out of the can with an ice pick or something. I just toss the can and the weed saving the discs and clamp for next time. I hope this helps someone conserve this valuable resource. For me it means lots more days of meds from the same batch. I’d love to hear some other ideas on this as stoners are extremely inventive when it comes to stuff like this.
