I'm building a grow shed in my back garden to get my grow out the house and away from my daughter.
So I've gone with a 120x60x120 tent with tsl2000 Mars led, in addition to my existing setup and I'm making the switch to coco from soil.
Id like to automate my grow as much as possible, so I thought auto pots would be ideal and save me going in and out of the shed a lot once I'm past the training stage.
I've gotten mixed opinions about the use of auto pots with coco, I've been scanning the net and seen some amazing results with autopots and coco but it seems to have a small amount of growers using this method.
From what I can gather it's definitely doable and with really beautiful results.
Most of the people that swear by it seem to layer perlite at the bottom of there pots and then fill with a coco/perlite mix, top water for the first couple weeks then turn the autopots on once the plants are established, top water a few times here and there to wash build up out, easy.
Seems like a good idea for my situation
Anyone have any experience with this method?, or if you have any thoughts about the whole idea I'd like to hear them.

Cant help for the autopots but dont forget the insulation on the shed 😉

I personmally dont like them for coco, but you see growers do well with them. As with most things with this hobby mate, you can make anything work really lol.
The watering form the top thing is important, as old salts need to be washed out. They wont be washed out if they are watered from the bottom all the time.
So as long as you water from the top a couple of times a wekk, you should be ok. Just keep an eye out for salt build up symptoms. And if you see any flush and re feeed.

Hey DB, you’ll like the 2x4 with the tsl2000 I think it’s a great combo together. 3 autos, or I’d say 2 photos fill it lovely 😊
And ZN, is bang on with the insulation, I’m growing in a garage also, and the winter grow was sore on the electric, the heater was going at least 50% of the time.
Have a friend using autopots with coco, it’s either perlite or clay pebbles he uses at the bottom. He’s had some decent results. So yea it can defo be done, wether it’s ideal or not I guess is the question.
@rufio just got my light and tent today, light came with a fat dent on one end.
Still gonna keep it but Mars said they give me £10 for the damage😂... Not like I just spent £336 with them.
But I still have high expectations for the tent and light combo it's perfect for what I need, 3 autos is exactly what I'm planning to run in there.

@discobiscuitt that’s crazy man, mine was the exact same, reflector was dented but the box/packaging perfect. Was 100% boxed damaged. I got the same $10 offer and just gave up on them. It’s not worth the hassle. Thankfully everything has been good so far.
yea that’s exactly what I have man, I think it’s an ideal set up for 3 autos 👍🏻
With that size pot you might even get 4 in there, depending on how much equipment is taking up space, heaters, humidifiers etc
My little set up 👍🏻 They are 5gallon pots so take up a lot of space
@discobiscuitt Is very easy to damage that 'tin foil' and I'm guessing the guy at the end of the line doesnt want to get shot for admitting he dropped one
