About to go down a rabbit hole and I don't care if I ever come out 😁. The growmie Jasper (aka @leafdebrief on Twitter) hooked me up with this raspberry pi "hat" and a few sensors to get the party started. And wait, it gets better... THERE'S AN APP!!!
Still in the BETA stage but the possibilities are endless. Temp, humidity and soil moisture data logging to start but after pumps and relays are added could be a fully automated grow😃. I could have everything "scheduled" and adjust as needed from anywhere via wifi 😎 ding [phone notification] "your soil is dry" press this button to water.
Yes, building the database will take time and nothing is ever as easy as it should be, but this is worth the investment (time) IMO. Hopefully get her setup for the next run in a few weeks. Stay tuned 🤣

Nope, didn't want it to be half assed LOL. I have enough programming experience to mess with the code but not nearly enough to write it. But numbers are numbers so hopefully time is the biggest factor.
@grower-urban I got a raspberry pi 400 at xmas, id never even heard of raspberry pi untill then, but iv only had it switched on about 3 times cos I dont have a clue what to do with it.haha I subd to a few raspberry pi channels on youtube and twitter and seen a lot of folk doing cool things with them, and it started me thinking " I wonder if anyones ever used one for controlling a growroom yet". Good luck with this mate, be interesting to see how you get on

@stootie if your an old school gamer this bad boy has EVERYTHING from Atari to N64. Pretty easy to download and install just have to make sure you put the right "ROMs" (games) in the right folders.
Should note that MOST USB gamepads work BUT some DO NOT (ie my N64 knockoff USB)
@grower-urban Nice, yea thats the thing I got a bit excited about when I started searching for info about the Pi, I noticed a lot of people were playing old games on them but I thought it looked a bit complicated, Iv had a N64, Dreamcast, Nes, Snes, playstations, Xboxes. I miss a lot of the old games. I'll need to start looking into that again soon, I joined percys near the end of Jan so iv never been thinking about the Pi since then...its all been about the weed.lol Thanks for that bro :d
