I have been thinking about this lately and lots of holes in the bottom of a pot or sides is often a bad idea
you water the plant it runs down the sides and often some of the root mass is still dry.
if you have a raised large single 2"hole in the centre bottom of the pot 1" high.
when you water the plant it alway goes down the sides, so it would fill the bottom edge of the pot 1" high and the root mass will pull all the water up over the next 20 minutes (with good soil)
all the root mass will be wet, no more dry hot spots.
if you away use a larger pot than you need your plants are not getting any problem like rootbound.
could even have a pump and water the plants with a tube under the pot as it would reduce gnats/bugs that live in the top soil and encourage the roots to fill the pot
top of the pots could be covered in sand
when the rootmas has a really good soak the plants love it and you have to water less often
I like the square pots , wrap cling film ,or seran wrap in us?round them upside down and fill up to the holes on the side with perlite , then my substrate , whip off the wrap, I am in a tent so every cm counts ,also autos so straight in a 12L pot , for life ,also running coco , we all got variables

"every cm in a tent" do you use the tall skinny pots ?
and perlight in the bottom inch of the pot would be perfect with the raise hole/drainage
@jacks_farm yea prohibition land pal , got hide the gubbins out of sight ,i got them when I was in a 60x60 ,so 4 and it was crammed , learned a lesson or 2 on that run lol ,the other lesson was a 600w hps probably wasn't the right choice

a 600w in 60x60 tent.
That's an insane amount of light/heat 
in a small room, never gone less than 600w in a 60 x 1m and that gave me a massive harvest
how did it work out and where did the filter/fans go?

Well yea 🤣 but In my defence I am from a farming background cows n sh1t ,spuds ,crop rotation , so i had to tone down the farmer 😝 and if im honest was around a dozen lessons ,and loads of hay like buds

@monkeydo the brand name is married to Fred flinstone lol so are the trays , real good quality but pricey , I may be right in thinking they are for a unit , a flintstone unit
