I thought it was about time that i posted the mods I made to my set up. When I originally set up my tent last fall , I was exhausting the air from the carbon filter back into the room.As the outdoor temperature warmed up in the spring I realized that the room I have my tent in has a southern exposure so the room was getting quite warm which drove up the internal tent temperature up significantly, the temperature in the tent was hitting 29+ degrees celcius, not acceptable.So a solution was in order. I decide that I needed to vent the carbon filter exhaust outdoors , so I built a window mount for the exhaust that would allow me not to take the window screen out. After a couple days of trying to design something this what I  came up.

 As you can see the bottom is recessed to allow the louvers to open properly .

I attached using a standard hose clamp.

The mount fits super snug into the window jam to form a perfect seal.I used air conditioning surround foam to seal it on the window side.

As you can see the louvers open properly and I didn't have to take the window screen out, keeping all the small bugs out.

To help with air flow I used @monkeydo's idea of the 90 degree furnace elbow ducting. Thanks for sharing such an awesome idea @monkeydo, it was much appreciated.

This works amazingly well to increase the amount of air flow going into the tent and will help with the issue of the sides of your tent being sucked in.The inside of the tube was painted flat black to stop the light from reflecting outward 9 sorry for no picture of the inside of the tube being flat black)

To stop dust from entering the tent I borrowed a pair of the wife's panty hose to cover the intake

To help keep the internal tent temperature down , I decided to move my Mars Hydro TSW2000. I started with a wood base added a raised baking sheet as a heat sink that the drivers would be mounted to and added a cooling system to keep the drivers working efficiently.

20200522 210905

 I mounted the driver the exact same distance apart as they were on the top of the light. Then i built a box to surround the drivers for a closed system.I choose a standard baking sheet, 3/8 inch plywood to make the box and 2 AC Infinity air plates in a push pull configuration.( I had to reverse the fans on one Air Plate unit to accomplish the push pull set up.)

 I cut slots for the power wires to slide into for both the driver power cords to slide into.

The AC Infinty Air plates are daisy chainable and they are powered by 5volt USB. They come with a power adapter also. They weren't  cheap but considering the price of the Mars Hydro TSW2000, its definitely wort it.

Once again i used a pair of the wife's panty hose to act as a dust filter.

By applying all these mods my internal temp has decreased significantly. Hope you all enjoyed the mods. Happy Growing

@green-beard Thanks man. There is two 80 mm fans in each unit and I have 2 units daisy chained together. Each fan unit has its own 3 speed control switch and you can connect extra fans via the extra usb port, which is wired into the cord. The power cords are quite long 6 ft I believe. Up to 4 fans can share the same usb port and up to 6 fans can share the same power outlet.  These fans are super quiet and they also can be connected to a multizine controll unit that is sold separately, which I tottally forgot to mention, my bad.

@mediamaster

very cool man, and the power consumption is quite low on each unit so it’s a win win, do they have the humidity meter like the t4 inline duct fans by any chance? Agree with Macky this thread needs to be in the equipment section it A1 buddy.

@green-beard , I just checked the AC Infinity website and they don't come with a humidity controller, but the T-Series models feature a digital LCD controller with automated thermostat and fan speed control like I mentioned above. Additional S-Series fans can be daisy chained.
