I've got this Govee WiFi sensor and the app got updated and started showing VPD

I've done that thing with leaf temp before and calculated VPD but I assume this is slightly different. Maybe the environment vpd?

Those with scientific knowledge could expand?

@teleman It's going to be giving you the VPD of the exact area the sensor is.   Could be close to what leaf VPD is if you have the sensor close to same level.

Here's a handy chart I use for keeping in the right range when I measure it.   If ya need. Smile

I’m a fairly new grower, but I have a science & engineering background. I can’t speak to the device you have, but for the “pulse one”- you can calibrate the sensor. Since the sensor is some distance from the canopy, you can measure leaf surface temp and input the offset.

if you’re using an IR gun, make sure you adjust the emissivity. Most people think you can just point the ir gun and get an accurate reading. Surface colour and texture effect the reading, hence having to adjust emissivity in the gun.

so far, I’ve been unable to find the exact emissivity # for our beloved plant, maybe I should borrow the calibrated surface pyrometer from work, and get the exact emissivity #. That have to wait a number of weeks until my grow get bigger..

this vegetation # is probably better than not adjusting at all!
