Fan Speed Controllers
As above fellas, what Fan controllers are we all using? Currently I only have one of them £10 varispeed ones and it’s crap, will get me by for this grow but something better is needed.
All the Infinity Stuff looks perfect but seems to be unavailable to anyone this side of the pond.
There doesn’t seem to be much in the bracket between very cheap, and very dear.
Shane from Migro mentioned in his interview about a reasonably priced Prima Klima (I think) fan and controller but I can’t seem to find it.
Whats everyone using in small Tents?
I have a cheap one for my veg 2x4 out fan (passive intake) and a £160 odd? think it’s blue lab I did put in pic in my Panama red diary which has temp control for intake and out, so you’re right I think not much in between cheap and ££
Time to pop some more beans 😗
I basically rely on the dial on my Rhino unit. I'm sure I'm missing a trick here, so am interested in the answer to this too.
Time to grow old disgracefully.
@rufio I use the cheap one that you plug into High/med/low they work for 3 of my 4 fans . i always start my fans on high and then once it is running i dial the fan speed down to where i want.
Zn has stated in several post about the fans needing a start capacitor to use these, I have not had issues with using them but it is possible that after a power outage that i may come home to a burnt up fan as there is one that will not start unless it is on high.
Sativa to change the things I can, Indica to accept the things I can’t.
One extractor is ac infinity and came with the controller. The other extractor I use a router speed controller to adjust as needed. The company I bought it from doesn’t carry them anymore apparently but some are floating around. I paid under $15usd for mine and it still works fine but I’ve been told that there are some better and more expensive ones that allow the fans to run more quietly.
Random acts of kindness make the world a better place
I have a cheap fan speed controller that I use for my intake fan, it's not very accurate but at night I can reduce it from full speed/noise to a level that isn't going to disturb sleep and that is all it needs to do, and like Twisted1 says, turn it up high and dial it down for best result.
So from what I can see, all the really cheap ones, you will get Noise, I don’t mind that so much as it’s no louder than the circulating fans.
I need something better than the varispeed I have though. For sure it’s gonna give me grief. Just there I checked the camera in work and temp and humidity both way too high, good job she was at home to sort.
thinking of giving the SMSCom single controller a go, I know it works on the same principle as what I have. The hybrid versions which would be a lot better are £200+ and for the size of my setup I just can’t commit to that right now.
Again, if it’s £50 down the drain I’d rather buy once than buy twice but as above, it’s a lot of money for a fan controller for a little 2x4
If anyone has used these or similar be great to great some feedback, Thanks
