Hey guys,
A while ago I posted up asking for recommendations for oscillating fans for a tent. During my first grow I purchased x2 clip on oscillating fans and after only one month one of them died as some components snapped inside so I replaced it. Then I also purchased some slightly cheaper non- oscillating clip on fans. By the time I was in flower I no longer had any oscillating fans working. They had both stoped oscillating and were really inconsistent as if they were slipping.
I then bought a larger non-oscillating fan that works well and still does but its very loud and powerful so I keep it in the top corner of my tent.
Anyway after the end of my 2nd grow I now only have the larger fan that performs correctly and the others just have really low power and are giving up.
After spending around £200 on different fans I was getting really pissed off until early this year I saw AC Infinity were making an EC Clip on fan specifically designed for grow tents and that can even be controlled remotely if you have an a AC Infinity controller.
It took ages for them to get to the UK but I preordered and finally have two of them.
They arrived today and I got them setup just in standalone mode (not using the AC Infinity controller) and it was dead simple. The mount for the fan was great and really sturdy and grips the poles with no slippage. On the back you can turn on oscillation and also have about 8 power settings.
I cant give a full review yet and intend to keep this updated and answer any questions anyone has here. But what I can say is the build quality looks great and my God they are quiet! I mean I didn't realise how much noise all of my fans made before, but one of these on half power now moves enough air in my 4x4 in early-mid veg and I can barely hear it with the tent closed.
Feel free to ask any questions if you're looking into them and I'll try to answer.
Nice one @yoshi 👍 I have been tempted by the AC fans, I’ve been waiting to find out if they really are as quiet as it seems tho 🤔

Cheers @yoshi, I had a fan break on me only the other day as well 👀 lol,out of interest mate what was the shipping and import duty on a couple of fans ? I ordered their extraction fan with the filter and that on my last grow, but it cost more to get it over here lol

@gelert I’m not sure if im allowed to say so someone please delete if it’s against the rules but I got them from Led grow shop in the UK and arrived next day. I just put in a preorder with them as they seem to be the biggest stockist of ac infinity in the UK. I got my extractors there to
I’m a happy customer so far, also. I have 1 in my 2x2 & 2 in my 4x4.
another member mentioned in another post- depending on how much air you’re moving, make sure you’re not sucking the walls in and possibly obstructing the fan. Could shorten its life otherwise.

I’ve had my fan in the 2x2 hooked up to the controller for the ac infinity extractor. A nice option, but I’m not sure I like it, I go back and forth it seems, don’t have a solid opinion yet! TBC, I love the fans, not sure I like it hooked up to the controller.
For folks unaware of the feature —- basically, your osculating fan will run at the same speed as your extractor (in my case, when my extractor is off, it’s running on speed #1, & #5 in the on condition). And you don’t need a ac infinity extractor, the oscillating fans can be standalone.

I was lucky enough to get one of the test models for the AC infinity oscillating fan before they came out on the market. It is really a great fan, however if your tent walls are sucking in at all, it will break the oscillating part pretty fast. Learned that the hard way. 😄
But they are very quiet and strong little fans.

Two posts up I mentioned that.
I couldn't remember who I heard that from on an earlier thread. I remember you throwing out that tidbit when I ordered my first one.
I have the high cam kit in my 4x4, but I double check my 2x2 every time I close my tent. Thanks Bro.

Well one week use in and I was luckily just back from a night away and had my Inkbird alerted me it had gone offline, and then all my other wifi devices were off so I ran up to the loft and the RCD had tripped in my fuse box in the loft.
I flipped it back up and was panicking trying to find the cause of it. It'd never happened before so I thought somehow water might have touched something (even though I cover myself pretty well) but it turned out that one of the AC Infinity clip fans just wouldn't turn back on so It was defiantly the cause.
I got in contact with the UK shop I got it from and they are going to replace it when I return it back to them for a new one to investigate.
Not the best start really as if I was away and that happened or even worse If I had been away and in flower when that happened it wouldn't have been good at all.
On a side note would having a multi-socket extension with an rcd in it prevent that happening again? I was thinking if I had my extractor fans and lights on one and then all the smaller bits like pump/humidifier/clip fans on the another at least theres less chance my extractors and lights would turn off if this ever happened again?
