Hello Green Mateys!

This week's question: in regards to autoflowering, we reduced the light from 18 hours a day to 16 hours. We did read with the autoflowering you do not need to reduce the light. What is your expertise with this--if you please?

No need to reduce the light at all in fact you’ll probably do better without reducing it because your plant has more time to collect energy to make flowers. My autos run 20/4 from germination to harvest and I can’t complain about the quality.

I run an 18/6 schedule for my autos, from day one until the day they get the chop. It is my preferred schedule and I know others run 20/4 and have great success too, really is up to you and what you want to run. Autos tend to do better with more light as Monkey said, most of the breeder timeframe info for an auto will be based on 20/4.

I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.

Automatic, push start and go. Don't look back.  LOL Wink  Like monkey said, there's no need to change. I do 18-6. Saves two hrs of electricity, and gives them 6 hrs of rest. This is what they're breed to do. Good luck.            peace

Look into DLI (daily light integral) you can get an app in your phone to measure it. Some autos may have a higher threshold for light and may yeild more. Weaker light needs more light hours, stronger light needs less hours.

  • Thank you All once again for the information. We are going back to the 18 and staying there. I will see if I can research the DLI also though Huskie, just because I'm an information mongrel. 😁
