For all the outdoor growers in here....and indoor too. How low can the temps be for the plants outside? I've heard crazy shit like has to be 15degrees C at least and I've heard people say at least above 5 or above freezing is ok for a bit....what are your guys lowest temps for the ladies outside?

Got down to 4 feels like 2 degrees and drizzle last night. Shook them before i went to bed and they are good to go today! Its a violator kush clone. I think genetics is the deciding factor in this question

I think moss is right it’s all down to genetics and how the strain has been stress tested. But as a rule of thumb I try not to let my tent get below 15oC. And I’ve started bringing in my tender plants from outside as it’s getting pretty cold of an evening now. You’ll be surprised at what temps a plant can tolerate tho ✌️

genetics is the deciding factor in this question

Genetics and how it has lived its life, its its used to the cold, itll handle it more, if its used to warm temps, itll handle them more, but big fluctuations will be a problem. As long as the frost hasn't hit it, i think youll be ok, just be wary of rot and mould

@colacody

Its a fine line man, where it become to risky to leave out side, and being ripe enough lol. Just keep looking out for anything doggy, first sign of any problem take it down

For basically this entire week here in SK, it's been down to about -1 or -2 at nights, and only got up to 8 or 9 in the afternoon. I have one lady still out in the yard (she decided to wait until 2 weeks after the other 3 to start flowering for some reason and isn't quite there yet), and while she hasn't grown too much (still chunkin out a little bit tho), she is still alive and kickin'. But yes, I agree with Mitch, Pete, and Macky - genetics are most important, as well whether or not it's acclimatized to the harsh outdoors or not.

I know carrots left out in sub-freezing temps concentrate their sugars and end up tasting way better, so maybe the same happens with cannabis, but with resin. 😀 😋. Maybe not, but would be sweet.

I have heard that Hindu grows naturally like this in the mountains in India/Pakistan too

 Genetics 🧬 is the final decision but, This is why I like to plant my plants outside in the dirt vs pots.  If the plant has been outside since spring naturally it has been building up  strength for the cold that comes in the fall that in mind it is a hearty plant too, it is a weed.  Last year I did a test on my last plant and left a branch to see how long it would take the cold and how long it would take to die. That plant lasted until January before it finally kicked the bucket and that was after a full week of -10. It can usually take that first frost if you have your plant thinned good enough but trichomes production stops and your plant starts depreciating in value below 15’C.  That being said, I also live in a great mild location opposed to people at a higher elevation or those on the coast and prairies. Outdoors we are at the will of the gods and picking at the right time is a gamble if you are watching the weather. We all want that final push before flush but timing it with the weather doesn’t always work so we do what we can to try and extend the plants season with greenhouse etc. or we cut down a tad early.

It is better to keep one’s mouth shut and let everyone think You’re a fool than to open it and prove them all right
