Day 1-10

well I decided to try the Hype and go with the lemon tree that everyone talks about. I started out by soaked two seeds in spring water for approximately 24 hours.

IMG 2916

Then I placed them in a plastic container that’s has a humidity dome and wrapped them up in a moist paper towel. I’ve been having some trouble maintaining a consistent temp in my grow room lately so I placed the container on a seed mat and set the temp too 75°F. After about 36 hours I had some tap roots.

IMG 2929
IMG 2928

One of the seeds had an extremely healthy start. She had a good fuzzy tap root and looked like she wouldn’t need much attention to survive. The second seed was a bit different. She was having some trouble splitting the shell of the seed and only popped out a tiny tap root with very little fuzz. I let ‘em stay in the container for another day then I planted them in some Coast of Maine Starting soil. The first seed #1 had no problem and didn’t skip a beat in her growth. Seed #2 on the other hand needed lots of help. I had to pluck off her helmet and the slightly translucent casing that covers the cotyledon inside the seed casing. The casing was a bit difficult to remove safely. I had to drench the seedling with water for a day then used the tip of a finishing nail to get in between the two cotyledon and slide the casing off.

Now to today, seedling #1 the healthy seedlings is growing well and is off to a good start. Seedlings #2 has been a real roller coaster ride. At first I thought for sure she wasn’t going to survive. I placed a clear plastic cup over her to increase the humidity. She was not opening her Cotyledons and it appeared that there was zero growth. Then she slowly started to open up and at this point I can just see the tiny little leaves starting to poke out. I’ve hooked up BluMats to the two pots and are hoping to use these throughout the grow.

IMG 2941
IMG 2942

I’ve also got one of those Vivosun Grow Hub E42A controllers. I bought this a few grows ago but never fully used all of the features. So I decided to run the Photoperiod setup and see how there “Recipe” works out. I got my exhaust fan, Circulation fan, and my light hooked to this controller. It’s kinda nice because I can remotely change light intensity, circ fan intensity and my exhaust fan. So far I’m diggin it.

IMG 2944

That’s it for now Stay high ✌️💨

Day 19

IMG 3016

To start I disconnected the blumat on L2 and moved her to a less powerful light for a few days. She is barely growing and is basically still a seedling 🌱. Not sure what stunted her growth other than she had a very thick helmet on her that was fairly difficult to remove.

IMG 3015

This is a current photo. As you can see she looks just about the same, but I still haven’t given up. My hope is that the plant is just getting her feet dug in before she takes off.

With L1 I’ve had no issues whatsoever. Very steady growth and I have about three nodes and extremely even growth coming up. I switched the stage to Vegetative on Day 14. Here’s a Photo of Day 14

IMG 2970

I’m thinking I will be able to repot this one in a few days. My plan is to get her into this-

IMG 3013

Im going with plastic on this grow in the hope to retain a bit more moisture. Lately my fabric pots have been drying out quickly and the BluMats are having trouble keeping up. When in plastic pots the BluMats IMO are more effective. Here’s a Current Photo Of L1

IMG 3014

That’s it for tonight ✌️💨

Day 25

IMG 3040

IMG 3037

Well L2 is definitely looking like it will not make it. she is stalled on her growth and I placed her in the quarantine side of the tent for now. If she decides she wants to grow anymore great but for no I’m gana just scrap her from this diary. I am however going to add this wonderful Crystalline Entity seedling I have she’s on Day 9 and looking ok for now.

IMG 3039

Still dripping away with the BluMats. L1 is looking Great 👍🏻

IMG 3038

lots of tiny branches trying to reach up. Once she’s repotted her in a day or so and has some time to gain a footing in her new pot I will start the trimming and LST. Had a wild idea to possibly try a main line on this one but probably gana reserve that for the Crystalline Entity instead.

Day 26

today I did a bit of transplanting. I initially wanted them in 3 gallons plastic but I had to change gears a bit and go with a 5 gallon fabric. The Lemon Tree 1 had almost filled the whole pot with root

IMG 3044
IMG 3043

she definitely needed some room she was starting to show some deficiencies. The Crystalline Entity not so much but I threw her in a five gallon fabric as well.

IMG 3047

that’s it for this one 💨✌️

Day 32

IMG 3070

Today I took a few clones from the Lemon Tree. She was looking real good after transplant. I waited about a week to long to switch to a larger pot so I had a bit of browning going on in the lower fan leaves. She recovered well and ready for some training.

IMG 3065
IMG 3064

I ended up trimming a majority of the fan leaves of to give some of the lower branches that I won’t be taking as clones some light. I ended up topping her to after the photo.

IMG 3067

I ended up with five decent cuttings to try to root.

IMG 3068

I dipped all of them in FOOP Cloning Gel and nested them in some seed starting soil, placed them under a humidity dome and gave them a spraying of FOOP mist. Then they were placed under a 2FT T5 fixture.

IMG 3069

Now to the Crystalline Entity. There’s not much really going on with her. She’s a good three weeks behind her tent mate. BluMats are keeping up well and I feel like she’s getting her footing in the new pot.

IMG 3066

That’s it for Today ✌️💨

Day 38

IMG 3083
IMG 3087

The LT 1 is growing amazing. She has good structure and nice sturdy stalks to hold up buds. After topping she has bounced back and I have multiple new colas starting to form. On day 33 I gave her a light feeding 7.5ml/gal of FF Grow Big. I watered in with 1.5 gals before she started to run off. Today I trimmed some of the fan leaves off to help the lower stems get a bit more light. Photo at the top is what she looked like before trimming and Here’s what she currently looks like after trimming

IMG 3085
IMG 3086

For the Crystalline Entity she has been looking a bit deficient in Nitrogen since transplant so I gave her a helping of Grow Big at the same ml/gal as the lemon tree. I’ve done no trimming or training yet. She appears to be a squatter very short with those thick indica type foliage.

IMG 3084

That’s all for this on ✌️💨

Day 44

Days from Flip 3

To start this entry off, I decided to chuck the Lemon Tree into the flower tent on day 41. She’s been under my Spider Farmer SF2000 the last 3 days at 12 and 12. I hooked her into the bluMats in the Flower tent which is a 2x4.

IMG 3100

At the moment I’m still trying to get the Humidity down. I’ve been having an issue with the Dehumidifier. I’m almost certain it’s starting to go. Well here’s some photos of her and her tent Mate a “Ragnarok” cutting I picked up at the grow store

IMG 3097
IMG 3098
IMG 3099

And not to leave out the Crystalline Entity. She’s still in the Veg Tent and I was thinking of letting her go for awhile in there. Today I gave her a good trim and I’m going to try to snatch a few clones from her later on in the grow. She’s still squatting a bit but man the stalk on her is thick.

IMG 3102
IMG 3101

Well that’s it for today ✌️💨

Damn @BackBlast, those are all looking good.

I'll have to get on the Cystalline Enity wagon one of these days.

Your Lemon tree is looking happy and strudy. I know they can fill out pretty good.

And that other one, Ragarok?, wtf, I think I spranged my tongue trying to say that one. lol oh, well, I'm sure it will be just fine. 🤣

Nice man, good work!!! 👍

Day 49

Days from flip 8

The Lemon Tree is Definitely starting to stretch a bit. From what it looks like about a good 6-7inch of upward growth so far. On day 45 I drenched the soil with compost tea. Starting to see the first signs of flowers on the top of the canopy. She’s starting to get a little skunkie smell to her. Got high😮‍💨 hopes for this one. She’s still chugging on her BluMats. The 5 gal rez is almost empty and it’s just her and a tent mate right now. The two feeding and the transfer to the Flower tent are the only times I have had to hand water.

IMG 3106
IMG 3107

The Crystalline Entity is looking good. She’s got these huge thick fan leaves that block a lot of the lower bud sites.

IMG 3110

So I gave her a bit of a haircut. I didn’t take any cuttings yet but I do plan on it probably the next time I trim her up. I also topped her she’s a squatty lady and the hope is some of those lower branches will catch up some.

IMG 3111

The CE is still on the BluMats as well and still under the SE3000 in the 3x3 space. I have her vegging on 18/6 for the time being.

Thats it for this entry ✌️💨

Ohhh and if anyone is curious about the Ragnarok her she is

Day 57

days from flip 16

well hit a bit of a bump in the road on this grow. I found just about one of the worst things you can find when in flower, the Dreaded Two Spotted Spider Mite.

IMG 3129

I believe I caught it early and I should be able to keep them at bay for the rest of the grow. In the past I’ve been successful in treating spider mites with a three fold process. First I defoliate as much as I can most of the fan leaves and branches I would normally keep for edibles and hash get the chop too.

Before and after Trimming

IMG 3130
IMG 3133

I do this in order for the next a step In The process to be more successful,Spraying. I don’t like using neem especially in flower. So for this I’m using Dr. Zymes. It’s safe in flower and uses food grade additives. The tricky part with this stuff is it’s a on contact pesticide. Basically the mites/eggs have to be covered in it for it to be effective. This is why you spray the piss out of the plant. I found the mites on day 52 and have been treating the small infestation so far with about a cup of Zymes per gallon in a pump sprayer. Sprayed for Five days strait until the plants looked like they went through the car wash. I also dipped any clones/smaller plants directly into the solution. Then the last step is the beneficial mites. I released a few of these little Red Devils (Phytoseiulus Persimilis)

IMG 3141

I use theses little guys to mop up any remaining eggs and mites for the next few days I will keep releasing these fellas in the hopes to kill the remaining Spider Mites. When I’ve exhausted all the mites I will spray one more time with Zymes at 1/2 cup per gallon just to be sure I got everything. Now this works most of the time but Spider Mites are extremely tough to complete get rid of just when ya think you got em they pop right back up stronger and more resistant to your initially treatment so it’s best to get them on the first shot and not mess around.

That’s it for today I will have more updates as the treatment goes on ✌️

Day 63

days from flip 22

In the last entry I was having a little bit of trouble with some Spider Mites. Well I happy to say they are gone and I haven’t seen any signs of them in the tent. The lemon tree is looking good. I can honestly say she has grown fairly steady and I can’t wait to see how big these buds get. Still rocking the BluMats I’ve had to fill the 5 gallon rez about three times so I’m averaging about 5 gallons every 7 days between these two plants. My humidity is floating around 60%. The controller has the extraction fan at max trying to keep up. Temps are still in the mid to high 70’s.

IMG 3165
IMG 3162

The Crystalline Entity is looking good starting to see a few deficiencies spring up but all and all she’s looking good. I still have her hooked up to the BluMats between her and another plant she’s going through about 5 gallons in 10 days or so.

Day-79

Days from Flip-38

I haven’t been real active with this girl the last few weeks. I honestly neglected her a bit and she developed what looks like a nitrogen deficiency. Mostly yellow of lower to mid leaves then that brown edge and natural falling off. I do feel that she should have a bit more weight on those buds so she’s probably slowed her growth.

IMG 3206
IMG 3204
IMG 3203

Today I watered in two gallons with 20ml/gal of Tiger bloom. I had about 1/2gal of runoff Probably should have gave her a healthy feeding of grow big when I flipped like I normally do but for some reason 🤷‍♂️. Hopefully we see a bit of a bounce back I’m not expecting anything miraculous this late in flower with just Tiger bloom but hopefully she will continue to get some weight on those buds.

She has a good smell to her very sweet and fruity but not lemon at least to me. I would like to see the bud a bit frostier to.

that’s it for today ✌️👊💨

Day- 92

Days from flip- 51

IMG 3244
IMG 3243

She’s recovered nicely from her deficiency a week or so ago buds have gotten bigger and frostier. I’m getting a nice light citrus smell can’t really say it’s a crazy lemon 🍋 but there’s definitely something there when ya give the buds a gentle squeeze. I’ve continued to hand water in tiger bloom at the rate of 2.5ml/gal and I get about 2- 2.5 gallons watered in. After today there I’m cutting her off of nutes and she’s on strait water from here on out.

IMG 3245
IMG 3246
IMG 3247

her tent mate “Ragnarok” picture above is absolutely gorgeous. She’s got nice color and frosty as hell. When ya give them a squeeze I get an overwhelming hit of funk mixed with a strong rubber smell very excited about her I took many clones so be prepared for a full diary on this strain soon.

thats it for today ✌️👊💨

@woodi2 I did not, I did a mix of Dr Zymes, beneficial Mites/insects (Phytoseiulus persimilis) and a good defoliation to help the Zymes be more effective. Honestly the Zymes helped stop the outbreak and the beneficial mites help keep the spider mites at a controllable level. It seemed to work enough to get me through this grow. Then a deep clean of the tents

@backblast, I'm not experienced with critters at all, but I got aphids on my outside grow this last summer. I tried Sparkys Black Tea treatment, except I used about a 1/2 cup of coffee in 2L+ of water and boiled it on the stove. Extra strong!! I put it in a pump up garden sprayer and tried to drown my plant. I sprayed the plant every which way I could, until I ran out of juice. Then I did the same thing again in about 3 days. I never saw another- Nothing. I saw an occasional bug lay and fly off but nothing stuck around. She finished great and not a sign of bugs any where. I did wash her.

This was outside and I thought for sure that the plants didn't stand a chance. I had five plants that were all infested, Majorly, and thought this is the end. This is why I grow indoors, I thought. But after the spray of coffee, I was convinced, and impressed.

Also, one of the plants was fed coffee as it's regular diet. Almost daily. Thinking that possible the plant would uptake the caffeine and use it as it's defense, but that didn't seem to matter. I've read the many plant produce their own small amount of caffeine as a defense against pests. So it's nothing new, as I'm finding. You can spray in flower.

I'll check out Dr Zymes. I think I've seen it, but will look into it. I'm sure I'll probably need it in the future sometime. Critter ain't going no where. 🖐️

Day-107

days from flip-66

Harvest Day

super exited for this. The lemon terps are subtle but there when ya give the buds a good pinching. The bud structure is a bit skinny but man is she frosty. All together I filled two racks of my mesh drying rack. Typically I get about an oz per rack sometimes a little more.

IMG 3270
IMG 3272

Now the Ragnarok, had the most pungent skunky/sweet smell you can get. It filled my whole house up with what I think is a nice stink the wife on the other hand ahh not so much 😂. The buds on this girl were dense and one of the frostiest plants I’ve grown very similar look to the Argyle Stash but smells completely different.

IMG 3271
IMG 3273

All together I should pull about 5-6 oz maybe more if I don’t dry em out too much. At this point I’ll give them about 5-7 days in the tent drying out and about a month of jar curing. All the trim and popcorn buds will be processed to bubble hash here in a few days or so.

that’s it for the harvest should have a smoke report in a month or so and some hash pics here soon 💨😮‍💨✌️
