Questions Best t5 type veg light?

In great need of a better vegging light. I was  thinking of the strip light  kinds, but wondered what others prefer, whether im better off led. (Shoestring budget)

I use a 2 tube 18" T5 & 125w CFL for the seedlings and a TSW2000 for vegging Smile

@zn I am reduced to the one 300 cfl, and a cheap led from wish Crazy . I broke the 2nd one lol. When it costs nearly 40 pounds to get another bulb its time to sort that out Even coverage and cheap running has got to be crucial I was thinking about a 4 bulbed one

Fluorescent lights mate, plenty of old ones about as everyone is changing to LED, very good vegging lights...proper old school 😉

@zn I got a cfl.. Actually got an envirogro 2 x 300 if anyone wants it.. I find it cumbersome though.. I think a t5 would serve better for are 1.2 meter squared

I would like to get a 250w Lumatek digital ballasts and turn it down to 150w and use a 150w mh bulb, they should easily cover a 2ft x 2ft in veg and pentrate the canopy a lot better than a cfl ( less heat/electric and more light)

The ballast will last years.

Dont mean CFLs mate, just standard tubes...office/shop refurbs ;)...you can get T5 fittings (Bulb size)...if they have 'grow' on them, they're twice as much ££s
